Super Mario Bros. I've never been able to reconcile the fact that Sonic wants you to explore and collect but at the same time speed about all over the place.
Do you prefer:
Buying a console at launch
Or
Waiting a couple years to buy a console (lower prices, don't have to wait for cool game releases)
Edit: I've done both. I've waited in the past, but got the Switch at a midnight release; It was so fun waiting in line with other game enthusiasts, I want to do it again if possible.
It really depends. I like having Nintendo consoles shortly after they launch, especially if there's stuff like Mario and Zelda available already - Nintendo has always been a safe choice for me when it comes to buying consoles. Otherwise I wait for more compelling exclusives coming out on the competition's hardware. Price drops help, too.
I usually wait a few years before buying a console since games tend to depriciate quickly. Switch is the earliest I've ever had, but it was a gift from my in-laws after I'd been through a string of bad luck.
Now my question. Which do you prefer?
ARMS
Or
Pokken Tournament

Hmmm, going to say Pokken over Arms. Basically, just because I was a big fan of Tekken back in the PS1 era, and throwing Pokemon into the mix can only be an upgrade, right? Only really played the demo of Arms, and thought it was neat but lacks that sharp responsiveness of a really great fighter.
Going back to the OG question, I’d probably pick Sonic’s debut over Super Mario Bros - but hardly seems fair comparing games from different eras. Should really be Sonic the Hedgehog versus Super Mario World, IMO. Mario romps home on that one, and overall. For me, anyway
1. Super Mario Bros. I'm fairly convinced now that the only people who say Sonic is better are those who only had a Mega Drive and were insecure.
2. Wait a couple of years, unless it's a handheld - I don't get enough playtime out of my non-handheld hardware. Switch was the first console I bought day 1.
3. ARMS. But I've not really played any Pokken yet.
@Blackbird789 Q1: Both are great games, but I'd say Super Mario Bros. 1 is a better game than Sonic 1. It started my favorite series ever and saved the gaming industry, after all. That, and SMB1 has better level design, I find. I don't particularly enjoy some of Sonic 1's zones (Marble and Labyrinth Zones come to mind).
Q2: The Nuts and Bolts design...but not by much.
@Luigi-number1 I like coffee as much as the next guy, as that wakes me up in the morning. However, I never have another cup in a single day unless it's decaffeinated. Sometimes I'm in the mood for tea, especially if I'm feeling under the weather. Coffee's good for getting myself up, but I'd say tea gets the edge. It's great for relaxation and is quite healing, and I can have tea anytime during the day without feeling jittery.
Mario vs. Sonic: Mario. I can understand the appeal of Sonic, but I've always preferred Mario games, mainly for the same reason @farmer_humpf said above.
Console at launch vs. waiting: I always like getting consoles at launch. If the console gets weak support (like Wii U), I buy the games right away because I'm always itching for something new to play. If the console gets strong support (like Switch), I will always wait on a sale to buy games because I already have more than enough games to play anyway.
ARMS vs. Pokken: I own both, but have barely played either. I guess I'll go with Pokken because it feels a bit more traditional, and when I played my non-gamer wife in ARMS, she destroyed me, haha.
Tea vs. Coffee: Tea is fine, but coffee wins hands down. I can't function without it, haha.
@judaspete ARMS, but only because I never played Pokken Tournament. I played the global testpunch version and it's fine, but I don't see myself playing too much of the full game.
My question: Which Mario power-up do you like more, the Tanooki Suit (SMB3) or the Cape Feather?
