I will always prefer console gaming over portable gaming and overall I think the Wii is a lot better than the DS. The DS has a lot of cool niche titles but you have to play on a tiny screen with N64 type graphics. I haven't played my DS in a long time and I'm not really fond of either of the Zelda games that came out for it.
80 percent of ds games are terrible. only 40 percent of wii games are terrible

This keeps changing for me and is more dependent on how my life is going. The DS was best when I was taking the bus. when I was home all the time the DS took a back seat to the Wii. Some times I have no time to play games. Other times my laptop gets more play time and the DS and Wii both take a back seat. Right now I have limited time again and I'm overwhelmed with games this year on my to do list.
I refuse to choose one over the other. Each has a place and purpose. I will focus on the console that best suits my life at the time.
I would have to say the Wii because thats the one I play more. I really only have a few games on DS but mostly I play the Wii with my son and two player games are just easier on the Wii then the DS.

Probably DS. Maybe it's because the games are cheaper or because I can't connect my Wii to the Internet, but the DS definitely seems to be the better system in my opinion.
Love them both equally and with a gamer's passion. In fact I love them more than any other console I've owned in my gaming history.
The DS has been the best portable console system of all time IMHO (no disrespect to the brilliant Game Boy).....PSP isn't even wiorth talking about (whoops I just did, heehee )
I'd take my PSP over my Wii too. And my PS3. Not to say I hate my Wii, I love it for what it does, but... idk, there's no (new) game that really captures my fancy on it, outside of DKCR.
