Toon Link is my main in Brawl. And TL looks way more badass than the TP Link.

[19:48] Ninten: lz, your avatar is weird. [19:48] Ninten: Reggie is like..."Duh, no Mother series for you Americans!" [19:49] lz2010: That was the point Ninten ;)
I could care less about what you people like to call "Toon Link". I'm not even sure how this term was made up. It's a Zelda game with a different graphical style. That doesn't make the main character different or "new".
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar. Please contact me before using my custom avatar!

"Hero of Time, Hero of Elements, and Hero of Winds are all separate titles given to distinguish these characters who share the name Link."
I don't really remember Link being called the Hero of Elements, but then again; it's been quite a while since I've played some of the games. So, anyone else remember?

Possibly Link's Awakening? I'm gonna look it up I guess. Oracle is second guess.
Edit: Closest I can find in Zelda Wiki is "Hero of the Essences of Time and Nature (Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons)."

Ah, ok. OoS did come to mind, but elements≠seasons as far as I know.

they call him "Toon Link" because that is what he is called in Super Smash Bros Brawl
No, he purely didn't like the name. He thought that naming the character "Toon" Link is disrespecting Wind Waker.
Whatever, I don't think that Toon is disrespectful. Wind Waker was meant to look cartoony so it only makes sense that the character is named Toon Link. Whether or not the cartoon look worked in Wind Waker (and it did, magnificently imo) is moot.
I'd love a true Wind Waker sequel on a console, pushing that Zelda storyline and gameplay further. I see no reason not to maintain it as a parallel series alongside the realistic Zelda games (and more Four Swords sequels as a third concurrent series... as well as a Zelda II inspired "Other Z" action-oriented series... if I ran Nintendo).
