Star Fox Assault - I'll agree it was too short and the controls were clunky, but I still enjoyed it, and multiplayer was a blast.
Took the word right out of my mouth. I can't think of anything else to add, though. Btw, did you switch to dualstick controls in the options menu? I thought that significantly boosted the game's appeal.

I was literally just about to say Super Paper Mario. Honestly, I loved the story and villains in this game which made up for the easy gameplay. And I also loved Gen 3 of Pokemon. I've heard a lot of people don't like it but it was my first Pokemon game and I loved it.

Oh right. I keep forgetting that doesn't have a lot of fans. It was a 2D Mario Platformer with a 3D gimmick, a life bar, and a greater focus on exploration. And Luigi. As far as I'm concered, it's the best Mario platformer ever.
Final Fantasy XII - I thought it was much better than people gave it credit for. The battle system was a bit too MMO-ish. It had someone like Vaan as a main character and it was a grind-fest so I understand why people might not like it.
Grandia III - Not a bad game at all but gets hate because it's nowhere near as good as the first two.
Final Fantasy XIII - It wasn't as bad as people told me it was. The second half of the game made up for the horrible first half and the battle system is great.
Prince of Persia (2008) - Much better than Warrior Within and Two Thrones in my opinion but not as good as The Sands of Time.
Assassin's Creed - Repetitive but the story is great and engrossing.
Call of Duty 4 - I know it's cool to hate on CoD now but this game was fun and balanced. Great community on PC for a long time. Everything after... not so much and populated with swearing children.
Devil May Cry 2 - Just kidding, nobody likes this game.

Yeah XII was pretty cool. Also it was kinda the prototype for Xenoblade, so it makes sense that it's the only FF after IX I enjoy.

Isn't COD4 like, considered one of the best entries in the series? The only people who don't seem to like it, are the people who don't like COD (or FPSers) in general.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure 3DS: To be fair, a lot of critics that reviewed this DO like it, but most of the actual Skylanders fanbase hate it, for some reason(while I still hold it as the best single player experience of the franchise).
I can't think of many other games that are largely hated that I really like... There are a lot more beloved games I thought were heavily overrated.
Grandia III - Not a bad game at all but gets hate because it's nowhere near as good as the first two.* Final Fantasy XIII - It wasn't as bad as people told me it was. The second half of the game made up for the horrible first half and the battle system is great.
Grandia III is probably my least liked game that I'm absolutely going to play through a second time someday (not totally sure if that's actually a thing). I didn't care for the story and the only two characters I liked leave the party early on, but I love the Grandia battle system so much that I almost don't mind. It's one of the few RPGs where I'd constantly go out of my way to seek out enemy encounters, even when I didn't need any items or experience.

I like that game too. And, thankfully, Vaan is only the "main" character for the first handful of hours before he fades into much more of a supporting role for the more important and interesting characters, like Balthier, Ashe and Basch.
Yoshi's Island DS. I don't think it's a classic or as good as the original, but I do think it's a good game with some fairly interesting levels and some great boss battles. And some of the music is actually sort of decent (like the intro and final boss theme).
Pac Man World 3: Some of it was frusturating, but it was a nice way to celebrate Pacman's 25th. Shadow the Hedgehog: I just like this game. I see some faults in it, however the missions were fun, I liked the multiplayer mode, and it looked nice on the Gamecube. Samurai Sword Destiny: The controls are a little bad, but the 3D is great, and the RPG elements and gameplay is quite fun. But I still can't beat that final boss.
Dungeon crawlers. Doesn't seem like many like that genre xD *cue every dungeon crawler nerd out there to come shout about how "dungeon crawling is my fav! You r rong, noob!" (Now since I did it for you, please don't :3)
