Ok my Monster Hunter Tri disc somehow has a smudge and I can't get it out. I already tried Windex Another thing close to Windex and My glasses cleaner. What do you do? EDIT:I just realized that I misspelled disc in the name sorry. Also the disc was already not able to load with the smudge without me doing anything. Lastly the disc channel can still read it. Just a few secconds after I start it says that it can't read it.

Theres the toothpaste trick. You rub any type of toothpaste on a disk. You have to rub in circles. Then, wash it off by rubbing it (in cirlces) off with your fingers under water.
Windex can actually damage discs beyond repair, something I've seen first hand. If you insist on a liquid, 2 parts water to 1 part rubbing alcohol is the strongest I'd go.
As for the toothpaste trick, it only works by actually sanding away part of the surface of the disc. While it can work, it should be a last resort. Oh, and don't use a gel toothpaste.
I think I'll try the toothpaste, nothing seems to work.

Well, the best way to get rid of it is buy a new disk

Do not rub in circles, it can damage the disc. You have to rub with a fine cloth straight from center to the outside of the disc. The idea of the toothpaste is to fill in (small) scratches and then the toothpaste dries clear. You should just be able to use a fine cloth to clean of smudges and such, although, to clean it off, sometimes some sort of cleaning product is necessary. Try what The Fox suggested, I'm not sure what strength of alcohol he is talking about.

You can take it to some movie/game rental stores, they may have a disk repair device. I went to my local Premiere Video and they fixed up my Kingdom Hearts 2 disc for about $5. They have a machine that applies a proper liquid and buffs out the scratches/smudges automatically. Now my game plays like brand new!
never use the shop disk cleaners on dual layerd disks, they rub the shiney layer off the surface. i know this, because i found out to my expence when i took in my super smash brawl game for a clean. single kayerd disks seem to be fine though.
If you got a warranty with the shop you bought it at just exchange it.

Did anyone ask if the disc was not working before suggesting the homemade repair solutions? Sometimes discs get scratches and smudges and still work fine. This could've made things drastically worse if it was superficial.
Lastly that Wii cleaner is used to clean the eye of your Wii, not your discs.
