2013 has been an incredibly crappy year for me as well. Things started out fine enough. I got my very first job, started driving, and overall felt like my life was finally starting to go somewhere. Then I quit my job for another involving what I thought was my first step towards my dream career, and that's where everything started to fall apart.
I believed I was doing well at the job, but my first review came in with poor results. I tried to do better, but a few weeks later the dreams I've kept since childhood were utterly destroyed by a single email. Ever since then I've been scrambling to find work, and even had two chances at other places where my passion could possibly grow back, but I've never even had a chance for an interview. And I still don't have an actual driver's license since I have no reason to go anywhere.
At least I don't have any girl troubles to deal with, but that also means I'm completely alone. I still remember one at my old church several years back that was the closest thing I ever had to a girlfriend. We used to talk all the time, and we even discussed marriage. She said once that when we're adults we should meet again, married or not. She's in college now. For some reason I see this image where we meet in the future and she's happily married with a great career and I'm alone, depressed, and jobless... Considering one of my biggest goals in life is to marry and have a family, such a thought really hurts.
Unless some miracle happens, I'll end this year exactly how I did the last one, with no progress made in my life whatsoever. My dad keeps telling me to not give up and have faith, but that faith is shrinking by the day...

After all these years of being puzzled about why my dad went through a divorce with the mother of my half-siblings, I found out that she had initiated the divorce in the first place
@WingedSnagret In regards to your job: Have you ever heard of Michael Wansley? Do you know him as "Wanz"? Well, if you don't, he was a Software Test Engineer, he did pretty much give up on making money off of making music, but then he did the hook for 'Thrift Shop' not expecting it to become a hit and... Well, for the first time in his life, he was on a music video shoot, he was touring, and then he was on Ellen. He's 51, you're 18. You're young, you're a good man, and, if some unlucky fella like Michael Wansley can make it at 51, you can certainly make it before then.
@Fikachu That's gotta be rough to find out after so long. I hope that, whatever effect it may have on you, it's only temporary.

Well, it looks like I won't be getting ALBW for Christmas, after all...
While my parents' Christmas budget for me is $50 (greater than the cost of the game), and despite my mom saying she would try and get it, my dad has other plans.
He said that since I'm in my 20's now, that a game would be an inappropriate gift, and to expect "adult" gifts.

If you don't want them I'll take them. u_u And I'm sure they are just telling you that to surprise you with your game.
I hope you're right, but you don't know my dad.
I got $50 last year from my grandpa, and my dad actually got mad that I used it to buy Paper Mario: Sticker Star, saying something like games are too expensive, and it's a waste to pay anything more than $10 on one.

@RR529: It sounds awful that your family doesn't like that you like video games!
I makes me feel very fortunate that video games are accepted (and often played) by all members of my family.

I don't think It's that he doesn't like me playing games, as he plays his MLB the Show game every day.
It's that as far as he sees it, I already have a few games for the system, so why "waste" money on any more? Again, he's had that one baseball game on PS3 for about 3 years now, and he's completely content playing that (and he doesn't even get online with it), so why would I possibly want more than what I already have.

1. finished Eyeshield 21.... it's sad bacause it's over..... but it was an amazingly good end(but rushed)
2. not sure yet if it's a positive or a disappointment but my mother said that since she was already going out she'd buy the SD card for me... she got a MicroSD(with adapter) of an unknown brand so I'll only know if it's good when I try on my 3DS(on the bright side if it ends being good I'll have 16GB, but it's 70% sure it isn't good, instead of the 8GB I'd get for the same price, but that one was from a good brand) it wound up being slow, not too much but still easy to notice, at least seeing OVER 9000(x10) blocks left on the SD card feels awesome!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
