Regular Show mentions several inappropriate stuff. However I think they simmered it down a bit.
Before they would say "Crap" and stuff like that. However they still do some strange stuff, including Benson (One of the main characters) having what would believe to be an erection on one episode. Another episode it was believed they were looking at pornography (only to turn out to be a car magazine) another time they said "How the H are we going to fix this S"

I also heard just like Video Games, Austrailia's Cartoon Network censors plenty of more things. In fact Austrailia will censor some kissing scenes in Adventure Time. Yes, Kissing.

Most cartoon shows in the late 90s and early 2000s used humor that TV shows now won't accept for viewer standards.

In shows such as Johnny Bravo, Power Puff Girls, Ed Edd 'n Eddy and Spongebob, the jokes are more sexual in that nature, whereas harsh language was prohibited. Nowadays those standards are reversed with sexual jokes prohibited and certain slur words are allowed such as **s, crap and d*mn.

There are some sexual themes found in Adventure Time and some swearing in Power Puff Girls (yes, they said qu**r), but not as common as their counterparts.

A sort of recent episode of Spongebob used the weird queer. I'm pretty sure it's not even a swear. Well, I never thought it was.

Banning episodes based on the language in it actually offends me. If people don't like it, just don't watch it..

It's a very offensive word, though. Sort of like fa**ot or h**o.

This episode is not suitable for children whatsoever. Kids watch Cartoon Network for funny cartoons not immature f-bombs and hostile attitudes.

In my opinion, if I saw this when I was a kid, I don't think I'd like Dexter's Laboratory as much as did then and now. That's not Dexter, that's just the writers having a little unadulterated fun.

Really? I always thought the word queer originally meant strange or unusual. Kinda like how the word gay was used to describe happiness and joy.

Quite sad how a lot of words that were originally harmless got turned into derogatory slurs. For example, nowadays I feel sorry for guys named Dick...

Ask a homosexual man if calling him queer would offend him. Assuming he knows the word's meaning nowadays, that is.

Unlike "gay", queer can still be used in its original meaning. Just beware that some people may not know what you mean by it.

'Queer' means strange/ usual in many English-speaking countries more typically than it means 'homosexual'. I would be very worried for the intelligence of any Australian that thought it solely meant 'gay,' because that person clearly never read a single book they use in schools here.

I liked the episode a lot, it was quite funny and worth the wait. Usually adult humor in cartoons make me cringe if it's too much (Catdog and I am weasel are two examples), but in others like this I don't mind

How is CatDog too adult compared to this? Catdog wasn't too heavy on innuendo compared to some other shows like Rocko's Modern Life, and this is really heavy on the language even if it's bleeped out.

Anyone think this is inappropriate for a show rated TV-PG (rest in piece great Titan) [youtube:U008nGT0eww]

I personally find the shows made by JG Quintel to be immature, shallow, and tasteless with their humor. CN's classic shows were smarter and more creative with their humor; not just saying things like the first letter of a swear word, "this totally sucks!," using the word "balls" in an obvious innuendo way, or simply making weird faces that become memes 4chan gobbles up.

Same goes for Adventure Time, except times a hundred.

JG Quintel only made one show (although he was creative director of Flapjack)

And I'm assuming you only saw the first few episodes. In a way, I think the censors being harsher on the show actually gave it some benefits, as the dialogue got better over time.

What do you think of most [adult swim] shows? Those are far less mature/tasteful then Regular Show.

I thought he made Adventure Time as well, since the art style is literally the same as RS and Flapjack. I just don't find any enjoyment in most cartoons made these days. Watching a bird and raccoon calling each other turd for 5 minutes isn't funny to watch, its painful. All the humor is reduced to something you'd see on a youtube video made by a couple guys who think they're hilarious, but really aren't. (i.e. Fred, Annoying Orange, all the cult stuff that gets Hot Topic merchandise basically, but thats debatable I guess.)

And no, I don't care for Adult Swim either. Superjail is garbage, all of them are garbage.

EDIT: Here's an example of something a bit deeper/less drug-addled then Superjail. Don't watch if you're easily depressed or disturbed though. http://vimeo.com/16339347 Also might be confusing without backstory from previous episodes.

The art style is nowhere NEAR the same dude. Regular Show and Flapjack are easily comparable, but Adventure Time? I'm not even a fan of AT but it has a much more distinctive art style.

Also, not all of Adult Swim is like Superjail. That was made as the product of acid. Some shows like Moral Orel or 12 Oz Mouse (don't judge by the art) feature much deeper plots/humor then Superjail.

Dude, they ALL have the same spaghetti-limbed, oval-teethed, bug-eyed, overly expressive, simplified art style.

Look at the eyes on the characters. That's distinctive enough.

And Flapjack/Regular Show are much simpler in design. Adventure Time relies on some bizarre art design with interesting color choice. Regular Show and Flapjack rely on much simpler design, reminiscent of cel-animated cartoons except slightly modernized.

Personally they'll always be in the same category to me. But as for Flapjack having a simple style; that wasn't always the case. Remember "candy wife?" or those random, mostly grotesque close-ups? like this for example:

rayword45

Those close-ups weren't really animated, but I get what you mean. Also, the show was meant to be disturbing, so it's not like the close-ups were anything bad. Remember Courage the Cowardly Dog? That had a load of grotesque imagery as well but the actual animation style was a lot simpler.

Yes Cartoons have that similarities. But that is what cartoons have usually been. Especially those that rely on comedy. It has to be enthusiastic. I'm having a tough time finding outliers. Anime look has its cliche visuals as well. Its just a way to look interesting to the majority of its target audience.
