I would kill Final Fantasy and JRPGs other than Final Fantasy will matter and it will be good.
Other JRPGs matter only if you want them to!
I wish reality worked like that but people were too busy not buying Radiant Historia so you are wrong.
While they do only matter if you want them to, That hasn't stopped Square Enix from force feeding us title after title though I wouldn't kill the FF series just because I hate the games either its because other brilliant games are overshadowed by the juggernaut, games like Dragon Quest a series that still has a lot of opportunities to grow and evolve and rise up in statis enough to become more popular with western audiences bringing over more charming JRPGs
*side note: every time someone mentions Radiata Stories I get it confused with Radiant History. And not a lot of people have played it nor heard of it? Well thats a shame.
Capcom at E3: Guys we're sorry about how we've been treating Mega Man so we're gonna make it up to you by releasing the Mega Man Cancelled Collection with all the titles we cancelled in the condition they we're in just before we pulled the plug. Now who wants Street Fighter X Monster Hunter?

I'm not entirely sure I need to kill Final Fantasy since SE are doing a good enough job on their own, but one of my favorite genres would be in a better place if it went away.
Except Final Fantasy is still the face of JRPGs and no one will be able to take that place without a hard-won fight, since it's the last JRPG that gets a significant amount of exposure in the west and the publishers aren't constantly afraid that it'll be "too niche and unappealing" to most gamers...with the sole exception being Dark Souls 1 and 2, which only sells well because it's niche and unappealing to most gamers. Not to mention they are one of the very few JRPGs on consoles that aren't uber-niche crap published by NISA....basically, if Final Fantasy dies, that'll simply solidify their irrelevance in the west, unless there's a proper successor from a huge company who is more than willing to put the money down to advertise it to the general public. At present, I can assure that there's no one even close to ready to do such a thing...
Because Final Fantasy is the only JRPG marketed like it's as big as Final Fantasy.
that is my answer to your entire point
Bravely Default's success is pretty good proof of this. "Hey people bought a game that they wanted and was given advertising."
Ni No Kuni did 1 million with painfully minimal marketing for that matter, don't tell me after Lightning returns that Final Fantasy is some impossible goal
What they need to do is stop releasing sports game X every year and just start released updates and/or DLC for an already existing game. I mean, come on, how hard would it be to update NHL with better fighting and current rosters rather than releasing another game. Oh wait, milking for profits is a thing, damn capitalism...

Bravely Default is probably the worst JRPG I have ever played to the end. I dunno how anyone can get anything at all out of playing it.

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.

Yep, that's EXACTLY what it comes down to. DLC updates would be smart...but wouldn't make anywhere near as much money.
I don't think I'd want to completely destroy any franchise, just revise how they do things. Destroying companies....THAT'S a different story. I'd love to see Square Enix's and EA's IPs sold off and in MUCH better hands. Capcom doesn't need to be destroyed IMO, but they sure as heck need to sell Mega Man already so at least someone is using him.

Which was my point. A big series like Final Fantasy failing would only make that worse. It would send a very clear messege that the general public doesn't want RPGs anymore.

Which is why we need people to do a better job advertising other JRPGs. As soon as that happens, everything I said will be entirely justified. Which considering the wonderful increase of successful JRPGs (read: more than zero) that didn't even need that, is certainly a long term possibility. I mean, Final Fantasy wasn't mainstream until VII.
Basically I would want Final Fantasy being replaced as JRPGs to be a slow and logical progression, which is how the best type of success frequently goes anyway.
Man, I really wish we could see how Japanese gamers felt about Final Fantasy now. I wish we could hear what they had to say on the series. Sometimes sales of a game speak loud words cuz didn't Lightning Returns pretty much die a fast death in Japan? I'm not trashing the game, by the way.
I will say this though... If Final Fantasy XV turns out to be a disaster then the series really is in trouble.

I'm getting real tired of all the Resident Evil movies that some how keep getting greenlit to be made I don't recall a single one being scary or recognizable to the series it spawned from I just want them to stop and stop shoehorning 3-D into them.

Any regular EA, Activision and Ubisoft franchise. Far Cry has had a terrific run, but I don't want it to become bland...
In terms of movies, I would kill to get rid of Transformers. My friends think that Pacific Rim is a terrible movie, and that Transformers is a masterpiece.
Bravely Default is probably the worst JRPG I have ever played to the end. I dunno how anyone can get anything at all out of playing it.
I loved Bravely Default, and I'm looking forward to the sequel!
What I liked most wasn't the story. It wasn't something special really, but the combat system and the combination of classes is what kept me going! I loved to experiment and find out how to deal lots of damage as fast as possible, or what combination would make me take no damage.
I eventually found a combination that would require luck, but I could beat literally everything.

FF that tries to be like FF7. FF7 was so bad, but because it had big marketing, people thought that was what Final Fantasy was. This is how FF became the superficial, annoying trash it is today.

I find it funny that you say that while having a character from FF7 as your avatar...

It would be easy enough to say Call of Duty (or Halo), but they are the largest of the mainstream problems plaguing games where in the US if it's not a FPS, it's crap (when you look at hype, coverage and overall sales.) They're choking to death the capability of people with better and entertaining ideas to be able to publish something on physical media as the risks are too high when the same drones line up to shoot each other in the face with the same rebranded game each year or two. In turn that cause so called 'indie' games to exist and get peddled via download services where it is cheaper and safe compared. I say so-called because indie has been blown out from what it was just a couple years ago.
