Topic: Destroy-A-Franchise Thread

Hi there, WhiteNoise17 here and boy have I got an offer for you. Are you tired of those annoying franchises that just won't die? Well here on the Destroy-A-Franchise thread you can post mildly irritated comments about how you wish they didn't exist anymore, because actually trying to actually destroy them is illegal and all... But anyway you hate Transformers? Are you getting real tired of Mario's crap. Wishing Final Fantasy would become Final Installment? Sanic just to slow for ya? Well use your posts to metaphorically put them out of their misery. This goes from books, to movies, to games, and even toys, as long as its a franchise,brand, or series and you hate it.

I personally wish God of War would stop now I loved it in the beginning but now its just taking unnecessary breaths. I mean after killing most of the gods and finally getting, some rather satisficing, revenge who will Kratos go after next? Norse Mythology?

Heh, I find this ironic considering your avatar has Crash Bandicoot, which is (sadly) pretty much a dead franchise at the moment.

I wouldn't end any franchise just because I'm sure someone would continue to enjoy them and while I can usually ignore franchises, those people won't have the option to buy their new games/see their new movies/whatever.
But, I'd love to see Skylanders end on a high note soon. The way Acti are, I fear I'm sure they'd just run it into the ground and it'd conclude with something mediocre, never to be mentioned again. I'd love to see it end with a really good game because I like some of the features the second and third introduced but they lack the heart of the first. I want to see a Skylanders game that's as immersive and has a story as interesting as the first, but includes features from the newer games, like the extra modes, the many new Skylanders and improved mechanics.

Halo. I thought the slogan was "finish the fight" 5 or 6 games ago. I was done after the first fight...

Call of Duty. Just stop. Unless you release a game with all 10 future map packs included (same goes for Battlefield).

New Super Mario Bros., it's not fun anymore.

I would kill Final Fantasy and JRPGs other than Final Fantasy will matter and it will be good.

I'm not entirely sure I need to kill Final Fantasy since SE are doing a good enough job on their own, but one of my favorite genres would be in a better place if it went away.

New Super Luigi U is the most recent and the best one.

All Ubisoft franchises. (Maybe not Rayman because it seems to generally work properly I just don't like it. The others barely work.)

Other JRPGs matter only if you want them to!

This thread will likely end badly despite OP's fine intentions, but here goes nothin'.

I'd like for FF to just die if it's going to continue on the path its on. Every installment just further solidifies that feeling for me.

I would kill Metal Gear Solid, so Kojima (and by extension Konami) are forced to milk something else. And stop ripping customers off with that expensive demo called Ground Zeroes.

I wish reality worked like that but people were too busy not buying Radiant Historia so you are wrong.

Except Final Fantasy is still the face of JRPGs and no one will be able to take that place without a hard-won fight, since it's the last JRPG that gets a significant amount of exposure in the west and the publishers aren't constantly afraid that it'll be "too niche and unappealing" to most gamers...with the sole exception being Dark Souls 1 and 2, which only sells well because it's niche and unappealing to most gamers. Not to mention they are one of the very few JRPGs on consoles that aren't uber-niche crap published by NISA....basically, if Final Fantasy dies, that'll simply solidify their irrelevance in the west, unless there's a proper successor from a huge company who is more than willing to put the money down to advertise it to the general public. At present, I can assure that there's no one even close to ready to do such a thing...

Animal Crossing, and unless they make the next Fire Emblem game an actual Fire Emblem game and not a casual dating sim, then they might as well kill FE for all its worth.

Could have been SO great, but they had to exclusively release it for tablets, some phones, and add micro transactions and other stupid stuff...
And Garden Warfare is on Origin. ORIGIN?! Good god. Can EA just blow up? They ruin so many great games.
