How would you describe Nintendo fans in general? How do they compare to fans of other systems. I am actually going to be positive and say that I feel in general Nintendo fans are relatively open minded. A lot of Nintendo fans own other systems and will recognize when Sony or even, uh, Xbox does something right. In general I find Nintendo fans tend to play more Japanese games. I would also say even when Nintendo fans are being fanboy they are willing to admit the big N has definitely its fair share of problems. The last one can apply to other fans too I guess.

Casual fans? They vary a lot.

Hardcore fans/fanboys? Typically, I view them as the same. I appreciate their overall unpretentious views on gaming and the balls they have to have to play Nintendo in public (in IS for the younger crowd at least), but open your mind already cause you say some if.leant stuff, and don't protect the blatantly antiquated/atrocious.

This is a signature.

Casual gamers who play WiiFit and WiiSports and like playing underpowered systems with bad graphics. They don't play real hardcore games like Call of Duty of Halo.

Well the fanboys are like any other any other; unvarnished truth without a positive spin on it will send them into a flying rage, the doom and gloom articles lately pointed that out I would think, anything remotely positive is praised by some as if they had some sort of stake in it and take offence to anything else, less news more propaganda is what I guess they really want maybe; but I would hope they where the minority off any fanbase.

Handsome and/or beautiful.

Because really, why describe ourselves any other way?

What i'm going to say is based on what really happened in real life around me and stuff, so I don't know if any of this would make sense to some others.

Nintendo fans would play any genre of games that interest them, whether it's a 3D platformer in space or a survival horror in space, they don't care if the game doesn't look that good in grapics and looks, especially in the screenshots, but what they care about is how the game plays, even if the game is for kids or adults, retro or new. Nintendo fans have friends that also are Sony and Microsoft fans, and Nintendo fans say "Yeah, that's cool, maybe i'll get one someday, but for now, it's just me and my Nintendo Wii". Nintendo fans can wait for a that won't be released for months, maybe even years, but the wait might hurt them a little, but they will eventually get over it and enjoy what game they have now. All and all, Nintendo fans are not perfect, and they know Nintendo is not perfect and they have flaws, but Nintendo was the one who they grew up with and they would support them forever.

Sony/Microsoft fans mostly play first person shooters, and their collection mostly consist games that are teen to mature, the kid games on their systems are what they consider for little kids or the term, shovelware. They base whether the game is good or bad based on the graphics most of the time and don't care about the gameplay at all. Their friends who are Nintendo fans, they usually don''t talk to them or hang out with them as much, they call the Wii gay, because the system is weaker than their console of choice and has fewer shooters and games that they like, they say grow up and get whatever system they have. They just can't wait for the game to play it, especially in the month of November, what they consider their holiday to play the next call of duty games, some of them skip work and school, just to play the game, usually the only people outside breathing air are the Nintendo fans, then the process repeats next year. All and all, Sony/Microsoft fans like their system, but they bash others because they don't have the system they have...................but there are just very few, and if you look hard enough, you might find the perfect person who has a Xbox 360 and/or a PS3, they don't bash you for having a Wii, and they think the Wii is good, and their collection has a variety of games that are not just FPS.

I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!

I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!

I'd say Swiket summed it up pretty well.

In all honesty only a few of the posts I've seen are really "fanboy". I like others are annoyed by the doom and gloom not because they are negative but it justs seem like a problem blown way out of proportion. People already saying a system is doomed and its been out like 3-4 months isn't based on logic, it's based on some need to feel the N will fall any day now. Nintendo's Wii u sales are NOT that good and Nintendo HAS made mistakes. Most of us aren't arguing against that, we are arguing against people who feel that they can see the future and Nintendo go out of business in March 2014.

Certainly I've seen some deluded comments in defense of Nintendo, but only a few. Fanboys I do admit can be similar in all types of things, but there flavor of "going to far" differs. For Nintendo fans, it's mainly the rejection that Nintendo can have better online and be more friendly to 3rd parties. Both of which I think the N is working on at least on SOME level now.

I find many of them, (not all) close minded. Don't know how many times I've heard a lot of them rant on about first party Nintendo games as if they are the greatest games ever and many wont branch out to other types of games. Just goes to show why third parties have a hard time selling anything on a Nintendo console.

The way I see it, a Nintendo fanboy has a more general taste, playing platformers, puzzlers, RPG, some RTS, and a little FPS. They may play violent killing games, but it's one a part of the regimen, not the whole thing. Usually not caring too much about graphics (though of course it's still important to them), they focus more on gameplay. And of course like any crazed fanboy does, they tend to dislike non-Nintendo consoles.

Sony and MS fanboys mostly play, you guessed it, FPSs, horror, and otherwise violent games. They shun almost anything with graphics below par and that doesn't involve guns and/or killing things. Also a Sony/MS fanboy might act more hostile towards Nintendo-centered consoles/games then vice versa. Mind you this is concerning fanboys who only stick with there "main company" and don't have multiple consoles.

I have to agree strongly with Swiket here, too. He did a great job summing things up. Nintendo Fans are just like any other type of fans. I'm actually repressing laughter right now at those who seem to imply that Nintendo fans are somehow more "open-minded" and "kinder towards other consoles." Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are indeed plenty of Nintendo fans who are like that. No, what I find comical is the sheer audacity of believing that somehow other console fandoms have fewer individuals who are open-minded, play other genres, and have no interest in bashing the other consoles. That's simply overlooking the negatives of your own fanbase while focusing on the negatives of the other fanbase. That's naive and hypocritical, and as far as I can tell, it makes you look like pretty poor example of the type of fan you just described.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I just had to get that out there.

Pretty much the same as any fanbase for anything. There are fans that are okay, and fans who are just complete piles of excrement. Usually the former outnumbers the latter, but the latter is louder, more visible and more obnoxious.

For every one Nintendo fan who feels like they're somehow "cool" for "fighting the evil empire" by ripping on Call of Duty and Halo, there are ten who simply don't mind not having the highest resolution graphics and the variety of shooter/action/etc. franchises most commonly found on the the other systems and like the Nintendo franchises that the Wii U/3DS gives them. By the same token, for every PS3/360 owner out there who can't resist digging at the Wii's relatively weak hardware compared to the other systems (and probably the Wii U later this year), the high percentage of shovelware in its software library and the admittedly-younger audience to which much of its software skews towards (these aren't subjective statements, for the record), there are ten owners who have nothing against the Wii at all and simply prefer one or both of the other systems for their greater capabilities fitting their own tastes. Only pointing out the louder, more obnoxious side of a fanbase just propagates the stereotypes.

And then there are those that couldn't care less about the "console wars" but occasionally poke fanboys for the fun of it
