Unfortunately, everyone's favourite Koopa King has passed away today aged 74 after a long battle prostate cancer. Share your thoughts about this tragic loss to Hollywood.

For those who do not know, Dennis Hopper played King Koopa in the 1993 live-action version of Super Mario Bros. (which is probably up there with some of the worst films of all time)

Rest in Peace, Dennis Hopper...

Didn't surprise me at all. Unfortunately I only really know him for King Koopa. To be fair, I haven't watched that many movies. (Which I'm trying to fix)

See you later alligator.

Okay, this one I can understand, but do we really need a thread for every celebrity that dies? :/

Aww, shame. Dennis Hopper was a really good actor, even in Waterworld. Rest in peace.

It's a shame to lose such a talented actor.

True, I remember even in crap films, he always did a decent job with his acting. I feel like watching the original Mario Bros. movie in honor of him...but man it's hard to sit through.

I don't post too often, but when I saw this I instinctively thought it was massively relevant - because it is! I also posted it because there wasn't a story on the main page about it, so I thought I'd let the good people of the public know.

It comes in 3's. Hope it ends with 2 this time. You will be missed.

I loved Hopper. The scene where Walken shoots him in True Romance is one of my fave film scenes of all time. I can't think of a single thing i've seen him in where he wasn't always at the top of his game (no matter how horrible the movie may have been -- and he was in plenty of crap FAR worse than the SMB movie).
