I said goodbye to Rare some time ago, so I'm not fussed. It's no surprise either, that ship has been sinking for a while now, I imagine he wishes he'd jumped sooner. I wish him luck.

I loved DKC2's music as well, and it's a shame he left. He was a truly great composer.
@David Wise - You have no idea what a huge impact you gave me with your first DKC soundtrack as a gamer. Truly amazing, and I'll always remember you for that. Aquatic Ambience is such an astounding track, it literally scared me the first time I heard it.

Rare died the moment Microsoft got a hold of them.

That's disappointing. DKC had some great music. Rare ain't much no more. Nintendo got rid of them when the time was right.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Please. If you're under the impression that Rare "died" because of Microsoft, that the studio's efforts since 2002 were lackluster because of Microsoft for some reason, you're kidding yourself.

I don't think he he was trying to say that...

Like everyone else said, Rare died long ago. The only reason I would want them back is for their classic games on VC.

Oh, I agree that Rare has been pretty much dead since Microsoft bought it. But, David Wise leaving is like the final nail in Rare's coffin.

Bye Dave.

Yeah, there was a time, many moons ago, when a new Rare game was one of the elite few game releases that were above reviews. You just knew it was going to be a must buy.

Alas, that was a long time ago, and now they are just another company, some good, some average, some bad.

I know I'm not going to see a good Donkey Kong Country, Earthworm Jim, or Crazy Taxi game again (the best for me of their respective companies) & I've grown to accept it.

As a Briton it is particularly sad to see Rare go this way though. They really punched above their weight for a while.

Listen to some DKC2 music on youtube, I've played the game to death & still couldn't believe this music was achieved on a 16 bit console when I heard it recently.

Rare has still had some good games. Perfect Dar Zero and Kameo are pretty good. Although the less said about 'Nuts and Bolts' the better.

Rare has been dead since before that. Remember "Star Fox Adventures"? That completely ruined the formula of Star Fox. The game was horrible, and Rare developed it.
