@Trinexx Right. I always squealed loudly when I entered a room and I would see SA-X walking slowly and creepish-ly. It had this sense of aura that told you "don't even think about messing with me." Jeez. It really messed with me when I was younger lol.
Yeah, Curious Village is really twisted in some parts, but I guess that's to be expected since the storyline is centered around the death of the baron of the village. It's amazing what he did for his daughter, though.... For a game that's all about harmlessly solving puzzles, you get a lot of insight into life, including the dark sides. Really excellent game. @DarthNocturnal@NintendoFan64@Socar Geez, I'm listening to the song NintendoFan put up and at this point I'm pretty sure it's my mind messing with me. I haven't even played Super Paper Mario yet....
God first.

Out of the games I know of, I'd say Xenoblade Chronicles X. The earth is blown up in the opening, and though some sidequests are more comical, the majority of the game is deadly serious, with many characters dying, all while the survivors fight to keep alive themselves.
But then again, it's nothing compared to SMTIV...
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time has to get my vote. The treatment of Toads throughout that game is completely disturbing, as Shroobs joyfully kill off whole Toad villiages and systematically kill/drain the life out of Toads for fuel and refreshment. The game goes for both disturbing instances, but whole segments/zones in the game drive the point home. For what would be expected to be a mostly lighthearted game, Partners in Time dives into some dark territory frequently and for long durations. Genocide, genetic engineering, gladiatorial combat, I think the winner is clear.
I will say that Majora's Mask is probably the absolute winner, but since we're on the topic of Mario RPG's, I think Partners in Time is especially relevant.

Wii Sports, the darkest Nintendo game ever closely followed by Wii Fit and Brain Training!
those games keep attacking you personally. Calling you overweight, telling you your "Brain Age" is super old. I don't know of many other games that attack you on such a personal level. Dark games indeed.
With all this talk of the Paper Mario series, I feel like it's something I should look into now, lol. I've always been mildly interested in Super Paper Mario because of this scene:
Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)
@Trinexx Haha, me too! I just had to see what the buzz about SPM was about... so I did some research without trying to spoil myself and I have come to a conclusion... SUPER PAPER MARIO IS SERIOUSLY MESSED UP IN SO MANY PLACES. I MEAN, REALLY NOW....
.... and yet, I still want to play it so badly. Dang, I wish my own copy wasn't a defect (yeah, I brought a faulty copy of the game and never got a replacement. I did get a refund, so there's that lol).
God first.

And the fact it's "messed up" is why it's still viewed positively (well, that and good gameplay), despite not being a traditional Paper Mario.
Yeah, I hope it comes out on VC soon. I'm not veeery fond of Paper Mario RPGs, so a platformer-style Paper Mario might be up my alley.
And I guess its positive reviews are to be expected. Let's hope Color Splash has a decent story line to it when it comes out.

Or your friends are just too nice to call you fat and stupid to your face.

Ha, jokes on you. I have no friends.... now I am sad
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@Vee_Flames: Haha, same. The more I find out about it, the more I want to play it. XD
I'm pretty sure I've seen it floating around as a Nintendo Selects title, but that was months ago. I bet copies are pretty hard to find at this point. There's the slight chance that it'll become a Wii U download, but I'm not fond of digital downloads for retail games.

Don't buy Nintendo's Quality of Life thingy when it comes out then as it monitors and criticize your self-esteem!
@SomeBitTripFan I agree with partners in time. I haven't played it since I was a little kid but I remember being freaked out over what happened to the toads.

Eternal Darkness was the first game that sprung to mind, that and Majora's Mask. Bayonetta is pretty satanic too. Corpse Party is coming to 3DS soon. The Zero Escape series.
Pikmin - you invade and master an indigenous race and set them to destroy other indigenous creatures in your conquest for shiny trinkets. Now that's dark! The horror, the horror!
No, but seriously, playing Pikmin for the first time, I really thought it was twisted. Didn't stop me from loving every minute of it though.
In my personal oponion, I find that Zelda Ocarina of time for N64 was defenitaly one of the darkest. I'll list below why.
1. Pretty dark story.
2. Blood in both Bottom of the Well and Shadow Temple plus Ganondorf's red blood
3. Dead Hand
4. ReDeads and their screams
5. Bongo Bongo
and I know that some may find it ridicolous but I find (as I do find him in many other games) Ganondorf is friggin' creepy. AND his organ playing. I mean, just listen to that organ play. Imagine being Princess Zelda being stuck into that crystal hearing that all the time until Link finally arrives.
