As I said before in the Paper Mario thread, their changes to the game after implementing the stickers and stupid people at Club Nintendo or whatever not liking story in video games are what to blame for the "problems" of that game.

I actually enjoyed sticker star. >.> But once again, it's the majority of the fans fault that the games lack originality. :3

Dear God, I forgot to put the word used in my post. Biggest eff up I did in a long time.
Also, I'm not saying that Sticker Star is a bad game. In fact, it's actually the best current 3DS Mario game. I loved what I played so far. I just feel like the game is lacking compared to the first two Paper Mario games. It's not the fact that the game isn't a RPG any more that even bugs me. It's just the fact that Shiggy decided to only allow characters from the main series to be in the game. Shiggy not only wanted the partners gone, but he also wanted the setting to be unoriginal as possible. That, and it just doesn't feel as fun and doesn't have that ''I can't stop playing it'' factor that the first Paper Mario games had. Aren't Mario games supposed to be addicting as all hell?
It's way better than Super Paper Mario for sure though.
Anyway, I'm planning on buying NSMBU just to spite Nintendo.

regardless I'm ahead of you since I'm not buying NSMBU ever because I don't need a 3rd NSMB game and because Rayman Legends will make it somewhat redundant. This might have been better if Nintendo was one of those companies doing the super "anti-used game" save files and bought it used. THAT would be spiting them. And kind of hilarious.
Instead you should get Rayman Legends and post to Nintendo's facebook or whatever a long list of praises for a 2d co-op platformer and then reveal it's Rayman Legends. That would also be funny.

What a shame. NSMBU is the best in the series and is at least ten times better (plus one if 0) than NSMB2

You guys fail to see where pntjr is coming from. He's aware he doesn't have to buy every Mario game released but it's disappointing knowing perfectly talented developers are having their talent wasted on generic Mario "sequels".
Like he said, those same people could be developing sequels for your precious F-Zero and Star Fox franchises. But they're not.

I must admit, this is an excellent point. It would be nice if the developers would focus there attentions on other franchises other then Mario, such as the ones @CactusJackson mentioned.

Well, the game industry its the one that its playing safer, NOT ONLY MARIO, i could think a lot of "safer" games: Call of Duty, Halo, Dead Space, Assasins Creed, etc... this generation was all about quick cash-in... the same games all over again.
So, while Mario ITS safe, i would call it one of the less "safe" of the "safer" games

This generation isn't the only generation to fall victim to quick, cash in games. This has been going since the NES days with Capcom's yearly released Mega Man sequels. Yet, no one complained about that, the Street Fighter spam, the over abundance of platformers or Square's RPG fiasco like they have about Call of Duty's success or the FPS genre hitting the mainstream.
And by the way, Dead Space is the last franchise to "play it safe".

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it did but it was super underground and no one knew these complaints existed back in the day. The FPS genre is probably at least half because of a combination of the dudebros ruining everyone's fun and people on Xbox Live making me hate people. The other half is completely worthless hypocrisy though.
