That's not uncommon. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
That bill is trying to get the same thing done, but in a way that Thompson does not agree with. I have more respect for him considering he kept with his beliefs. He is a very smart man.

As a lawyer, i genuinely don't understand why jurisdictions keep trying to pass legislation like this. Even if they pass, they are immediately struck down EVERY SINGLE TIME. And heh, if anyone knows that, it's Thompson (former blight on my profession; was very pleased, professionally, when he was disbarred).
