Nobody should be complaining all of this is technically free. They don't even have to do this. I think the pins are cool and interesting. Plus they aren't saying you have to wear them. Just put them on a shelf or something. You should never have expected it to be something big and amazing. Just be happy they do it.

I'd hardly call these rewards free considering how much you have to buy to qualify and the hours of work it is to do all the surveys over the course of a year. Maybe I should quit doing them, but I don't want to risk missing out on something awesome one of these years, although I'm seriously starting to question whether that will ever happen.

You payed for the games, if you bought enough you get a bonus. That's it. Each survey takes around 20 seconds for me. I I do them right after I get the game.
Not only do I get Platinum but I also got 600 coins to spend on something else. They pay for the shipping. All for doing surveys for games I was already gonna buy and the surveys themselves have their purpose as well to benefit everyone.

What he said. The surveys really don't take that long. I worked on a couple this morning for a few games that I had picked up after getting Platinum for last year, and I got gold for this year in about 45 minutes.

You mean the Red and Blue pouches? If so: Yes, I got the Red one, and love it. The material feels awesome, and rubs any fingerprints off the 3DS's shiny exterior. Bet 250 points you can spend IMO.
I spent close to 2 hours doing 9 surveys today, so I don't know how you can do them in 20 seconds unless you're not even thinking about them and trying to give useful feedback.
I don't know how you can do them in 2 hours... I type really fast... well maybe a slight bit above average. I know what I am going to say before hand though. Though I have "N/A" copied just encase there's nothing I have to say.

I've been thinking the same thing. I want it just for collection/nostalgia purposes, but i keep thinking that the second i order it, there will be a really cool item offered (like the SuperFami-style classic controller) and i'll be light on points. Of course, considering what NoA typically has been offering ... meh.
But guess i'll pop over there to grab the pin set anyway, even if i'm not that enthused about it. At least i have a good place for it, alongside the figurine (and its awesome "?" box) from last year.
Unfortunately, the US version does not sport the original Mario boxart. The Cases combine to form pictures of 8-bit Mario, an 8-bit Mushroom, or an 8-bit Goomba.

0.o I'm sure the pins wouldn't kill you or be bad to you in anyway. Would you rather just not get anything then get those pins?
