Stewart and Colbert's efforts are wonderful. America could really do with a better attitude about things, rather than sensationalising every little thing. I appreciate their work, and hopefully it has a lasting effect on the American psyche.
Not that the whole issue is relevant to me, thankfully.
That was actually a meaningful read, now that I got through it. Thank you for that. It's been a while since I've watched the news (The election just made things unbearable), but I can still understand what their getting at when they mean that America has lost "sanity". I can certainly get behind a movement to make debate more civil, even a satirical one.
I thought it was a brilliant idea to show the world that there's still a majority of the people who do not believe 9/11 was a Bush conspiracy or that Obama is a muslim or a communist.
Living in a country where nearly one out of six people voted for a party that wants to ban the Quran, I think we could use something like this as well.
I actually went, but the wait for the Metro was so long, I missed the actual peformance. That kind of sucked, but still, it was good to be there. What kind of pissed me off was that there were other people promoting ideas that were a little "out there". For example, vegans and the Communist Party. The Communist Party! Really? I know that this rally was a cry against these crazy teaba...I'm not even going to say that word, but there's something those people need to realize and that's that there are two extremes. It was supposed to be about moderates and taking it down a notch. Moderates don't like the ways Fox News and the Tea Party act, but that doesn't mean we're exactly open to the other side either.

I know right? There is nothing wrong with living in harmony and discussing things with common sense and in a civil and morally intelluctual way instead of the foolishly racist and hateful way FOX News does things at some time or another (if not all the time). I still think NPR was wrong for dumping Juan Williams for appearing on FOX as that wasn't quite right either.
BTW almostnacho Vegans aren't actually far flung! I'm a Vegan and I'm all for peace and civility. Most Vegans support the peace movement along with animal rights not mention religious and bodily spirituality and mental balance. Not, only am I a Vegetarian for the sake of saving animals from inhumane treatment but I also hate the idea of slaying another life form in the name of my bloody appetite.
I also think that Colbert and Stewart will also do another political "sensible" rally in 2012 although I'm happy that females will be in the forefront as presidential candidates. Oh, and I appreciate Stewart and Colbert reminding us Christians that not "all Muslims are bad" and "there are some you'll really like".
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? Isaiah 42:19

Good, now all I need is prove that there's a halfway sane Christian in existence.
unfortunately, this thread is treading a bit too close to the line.
