Topic: Cartoon Wars: Nickelodeon V.S Cartoon Network!

For years, it seems that Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, two major cartoon channels, have been at war with each other. Sure, it might not be as intense as the war between Nintendo and Sega from back in the '90s, but still, it's pretty controversial. I'd say that both channels were at their prime during the early to mid 2000s. Over the last few years, I'd say that both have gone way downhill. Take Nickelodeon's new show 'Sanjay and Craig' and Cartoon Network's 'Problem Solverz' for example. 'SpongeBob SquarePants' was a great show, up until 2005, when the show received new ownership after the movie. They both still have some good shows. Nick's 'The Legend of Korra' and CN's 'Adventure Time' are both fantastic shows. Over the years, many wonderful shows have come and gone. For Nick, there was Avatar: The Last Airbender, Jimmy Neutron, Danny Phantom, Invader Zim, and plenty more. Cartoon Network had Teen Titans, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Dexter's Laboratory, ect. It's hard to choose which channel is the best, so I'm gonna let you guys pick. Please only base your response on their regular time block and not Adult Swim or Nick at Nite. You can take Boomerang and NickToons into account, as well. Happy voting!

Cartoon Network had almost all of my old favorites, and even with the cancellation of most of the good new shows (Sym-Bionic Titan, Robotomy, etc;), at least Regular Show is still here.

Cartoon Network had Toonami (Dragon Ball Z, G Gundam, Rurouni Kenshin, Reboot, Tenchi Muyo!, Yu Yu Hakusho, Outlaw Star, and others), which trumps anything else.

They get extra bonus points for Dexter's Lab, Teen Titans, ThunderCats (2011), Swat Kats, Justice League, Sym-Bionic Titan, Duck Dodgers, Samurai Jack, & the Looney Toons Show as well.

Nick isn't totally baren though. They have Avatar: the Last Airbender (and the sequel, which I'm just going to assume is good), Fairly Odd Parents, Kappa Mikey, SpongeBob, Danny Phantom, & Rugrats.

Cartoon Network, big winner. There is at least 18 shows currently airing on CN that catch my interest whereas there's only 5 on Nick.

On a side note, if this was Boomerang vs NickToons, I would go with NickToons since Boomerang shows a lot of reruns

Cartoon Network. Had to many better shows, to many original shows, to many quality shows. Nick was competing when Doug , Real Monsters Rugrats and Rocco's Modern Life were around, but Cartoon Network had toonami, samurai jack justice league down to Kids Next Door.

Cartoon Network wins.

See, I never got what was so great about 90's Nick (outside of Rugrats).

Doug & Hey Arnold! were dreadfully boring, & Rocko's Modern Life, Ren & Stimpy, & Real Monsters had absolutely hideous art styles.

To each their own, I suppose.

Agreed! The art style could be off putting at times (but, in the case of Rocko's modern life and Ahh! Real Monsters the characters were interesting as we're their situations. I never could sand Ren and Stimpy).

Cartoon Networks completely owns this competition, in fact there really is no competition. Cartoon Network has broadcasted so many memorable cartoons (courage the cowardly dog, ppg, samurai jack, foster's home for imaginary friends, the grim adventures, The misadventures of flap jack); And is still broadcasting some cartoon gold albeit not as many as before. Plus Boomerang is home of the Looney Tunes… Nickelodeon may have had some brilliant cartoon hits but, do they have the Looney Tunes?!? No. End of discussion!

Real Monsters had the same art style as Rugrats. /:
Ren and Stimpy I'll give to you, though it irritates me more due to the usage of limited animation combined with John Kricfalusi's massive ego.
And Rocko is NOT about the animation. The writing is key here.

The cartoons you listed as boring are basically slice of life stories.

Hmm, currently for me...

CN:
Adventure Time
Regular Show
The Amazing World Of Gumball
Dragons: Riders Of Berk
Toonami (Doesn't really count)

Nick:
TMNT
The Legend Of Korra
Robot And Monster
Sanjay And Craig

I'd say they're about even at the moment.

Edit: While i'm at it, i'll just toss in Pokèmon, Yu-Gi-Oh and Power Rangers' current incarnations.

Jimmy Neutron was awesome, but 2 for Boomerang. And where else would I find this?

Adventure Time is good, but Nick has good shows too, like The Legend of Korra.

I can't believe everyone's voting for Cartoon Network! Don't get me wrong, I like both channels pretty much equally, but I thought it would be at least half-and-half.

Pre 2005, Cartoon Network definitely. Nickelodeon was still very good though.
Post 2005, Still Cartoon Network, but only because Nickelodeon now is just almost all Spongebob and live action stuff. Both channels have gone downhill.

I just checked my cable's info, and it doesn't look like Nicktoons even has Dragon Ball Z Kai anymore (that's a major decrease in their standing, as far as I'm concerned).

Still, it looks like they replaced it with Yu-Gi-Oh!, so it's not all bad, but still.

I don't really watch either block anymore, aside from the occasional Adventure Time and Regular Show, both of which I love and both of which I almost always forget are on.

Looking through their respective canons, I've probably been more of a CN person over the years, but there've been almost as many Nicktoons that I've really enjoyed.
