Honestly, I'm just thinking of doing what would make my parents happy since I'm basically out of time to think of one. I'd love to write manga or illustrate a series in general as a career.
I feel the same way, sometimes. But you have got to make yourself happy. One should not try to please someone else as it usually ends bad.
I believe I'll work at some chain while working part-time on my art. Lots of people have done similar things ; if they are successful they switch full-time to their career of choice.

I don't know anything about making video games either. But I want to learn. Even if I never get too good at coding, I would still like to come up with stories and other innovative features for video games. So don't give up your dream just yet. Teaching is an honorable career too.
