I could've sworn there was a "Nintendo should buy Capcom" thread somewhere, but I can't find it. Oh well.
Anyway, in light of all the ridiculousness Capcom is doing (and not doing) to Mega Man lately (cancelled several games but made a Rush tissue box? really?), and of course his inclusion in the highly esteemed Smash Bros. roster, I've got to thinking if Nintendo bought the franchise. I don't know what the odds of that happening are, but it is just crazy how Capcom is treating their once glorious flagship character, so unless something changes I hope the Blue Bomber finds a new permanent home.

Hell yes they should. Best thing that happened to the Blue Bomber recently was being added to Smash. Nintendo would put a developer on him, like maybe Retro Studios or maybe even grabbing Infuane to help create a new Mega Man game, like Legends 3 or Maverick Hunter. On the topic of buying stuff, Nintendo should totally pick up Atlus, that is if they're sold.
Eh, I think there's better uses of money. There isn't much more to really do with Mega Man that hasn't already been done. You've got dozens of side-scrollers and a bunch of spin off properties with their own sequels. I think Nintendo would be better off making another IP.
Best thread ever

I'd love it if they did! Without Inafune and most importantly the lackluster current state of the 'realistic' MatureZ industry, Mega Man would get the complete shaft 'retail-wise' in favor of Dead Rising 3, Lost Planet whatever, Resident Evil and Capcom's other cartoonless Blood soaked franchises which are flooding up the current uncreative pathetic western market. In this day and age, Mega Man now feels completely out of place being owned by Capcom...He'd totaly fit in MEGA LOADS better with the big N.
That makes a lot of sense. Capcom, like just about every other major company, is ditching their quote unquote "kiddy" franchises in favor of the blood bath fests that overflow the market now. Heck, look what happened to Crash Bandicoot. He was supposed to be Sony's Mario/Sonic, only to be eventually overshadowed by the omnipresent military shooters (though granted Sony does have some diverse franchises). Which is why Nintendo, who still holds on to cleaner ideals, is a good candidate to take Mega Man in should such a moment ever arrive.

Mega man has always felt like a Nintendo character(to me at least), and Nintendo would be doing a good deed if they bought him, and gave the little guy some love. The only strange though would be two arm cannoned mechanically suited warriors at Nintendo's side.
I really don't see Capcom ever selling the rights to Mega Man, even though they've been ignoring him these last few years. I'd love to see what Nintendo could do with the franchise though.

They should do it when Capcom loses all hope and goes bankrupt....but as of right now no because Capcom would charge WAY too much for it and mega man is also pretty much the face of Capcom other than some other games that they keep re-releasing.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
