Topic: Bring back the original Nintendo Seal of Quality!

Well, I am concerned that the Seal has been (in a sense) demoted from what it usually stood for back in the earlier generations of video gaming.

With the lawsuits Nintendo loses against pirates (scope my DS piracy lawsuit loss thread in the DS section), it's about time our company works harder to ensure that our games are of top quality.

I'm not saying that Nintendo games (and other publishers'/developers') aren't of the highest quality, but they have made great games here and there, and there have been some ho-hum titles around. It's about time for the Big N to make the Gold Seal more important that it is now!

So any thoughts, objections or supporting arguments about this, guys?

It got "demoted" so people of lesser intelligence, some of whom have posted in this thread, wouldn't misinterpret the very obvious meaning of the seal.

What "earlier generation" are you referring too? The NES days? How many NES games have you actually played? I can assure you, there was just as much crap released back then with a seal of approval slapped on it as there is today. And besides, like Adamant pointed out, it's not a seal of "quality", it just means it's officially licensed to play on a Nintendo system. All those unlicensed NES games? No seal of approval.
