After six years, the Brawl in the Family webcomic is going to be ending. http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2014/07/24/580-world-eig...
I'm really, really going to miss it... I've looked forward to every new comic since my brother showed it to me. (The newest comic was Landmaster, #78 back in 2008! Time sure flies...) Well, at least Homestar Runner is coming back! It can be replacement, I guess!
HOMESTAR RUNNER IS COMING BACK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Yeah, didn't to hear? Matt Chapman was in a podcast recently and was talking about how he's moved back near Mike and they want to start again. He said, if they do start, toons could show up in the fall.

Edit: I got too excited, he didn't say we can expect things in August, he just said we should keep Homestar Runner on our radar, but it seems really likely he's coming back!
Ah, that's too bad. I wonder if Matthew will make something else? Hopefully after he's had some time off at least. 580 strips in only 6-1/2 years? That's quite a lot!
As far as I know, Matthew will at least release another volume and continue drawing comics for NF Magazine. Though BitF may be ending, at least the comics hopefully won't.
Wow, he's really been chugging along hasn't he? He's been able to open up and in not too long he'll have a fantastic game to add to his resume. Man, but those comics were all pretty inventive, and the jokes were often hilarious. Unlike with Nintendo Power, where I hopped in the last year or so, I've been keeping up with that strip since around when it began and he only had about 10 or 15 up. Time surely flies, that's pretty crazy it's been that long. Best of luck to him and his brother, I can expect some great things to come from them in the future. Of course I'm pretty relived that it didn't just end with number 580. Once I'd read it and then looked back at the title and saw "World 8-4" for a moment I thought it was over already. Definitely going to pay special attention to each of these last comics he puts out.
I really don't want to get my hopes up for Homestar runner, but it's something.... At anyrate, this is sure to be a very bittersweet time for me as we enter the final stretch of BitF comics.

I am The Guy. I got all the shiny trinkets. Perfect score on every Yoshi's Island level. I beat Dark Link. Basically, I'm Awesome.
I do think it's kinda amusing in a way that he's ending around the time that the latest Smash Bros won't be Brawl anymore. Borderline suspicious even.
I got into the series pretty late but it's a solid little comedy comic, if not on the level of say, a Penny Arcade. Kind of a shame but I've seen one too many internet personalities forced to stick with their best known project because of fans so I'm glad he's willing to move onto something else.
I'm a big fan of BitF and I'm pretty bummed to see it go but given the fact that he just got married I'm assuming Matthew just has other priorities in life right now. I wish him well.
