I have worked some retail jobs in my life and have done Black Fridays and they are bad, but in some ways I actually think the day after Christmas is worse because not only are there tons of returns, but there are plenty folks who come to stores because they didn't buy their kids any gifts and are hoping they can buy something cheap for them after Christmas. It's sorta sad to see that because prices aren't that dramatically different on Dec 26.

It's kinda fun. My wife and I go occasionally just to watch all the craziness. I'm one of those guys that likes layovers in airports because I can sit in a chair and "people-watch". I like checking out the wildlife. heh
I've got a few things I'm keeping an eye on this year: A new washer and drier (although there are rumors about a Cash-for-Clunkers program coming out for appliances so I'll probably wait and see), a ps3 (not a must-have though), and a new tv for my bedroom and my son's. Most of those things can be purchased online on Cyber-Monday though so no big worries.
There are usually a lot of deals better than "$10 off a DVD player." For example, a couple years ago Toys 'R' Us had a deal for a 120GB brown Zune, priced at $80 (regular price is $220). Most stores have some items marked way way down as a loss leader to draw people into their store, where they have a bunch of other items that are also on sale (but they are still making a profit on these). Notable items I've purchased on Black Friday are: a $50 office chair (marked down from $130) at OfficeMax a $100 graphics card (marked down from $220) at Best Buy and a $630 Vizio 32" 720p LCD TV (marked down from... not really sure on this one. It was selling for $650 on newegg and on Vizio's site - and I didn't have to pay shipping. So probably a $100 deal.) at Circuit City.
I didn't go last year, but I'd like to go this year if I can find anything that's worth it. I've already got like, everything, though. Maybe a new office/computer chair since my current one is a little busted up. Maybe a bed frame and/or a Tempurpedic mattress if those go on sale as well.
Well theres a few more days left and this is what me and my dad are getting Animal Crossing City Folk $27 Call of Duty World at War wii $27 Maybe Shaun White Snowborading $7 Final Fantasy 7 crisses core $10 Memory stick duo $20 32 inch hd tv $247 or 22 inch hd tv $199 depends which one there is Northern anti viurs 360 premiuim edtion 3.0 $10
Agreed, back in 2006 I was working at Borders Express in a mall, and it was at the early hours. No one was around that day, but it was uber-foggy outside. If anything, the drive to work was the scary part. Other than that, it was not a bad day shopping at the nearby Best Buy. Only bought a SD card with my new Wii back then.
Far as BF comes, last year was fun, albeit very crowded but not insane like that video shown. I'll be doing another early BF shopping at Best Buy this year. Maybe being at the back of the long line has its advantages. XD
