I went one time and I'll never go again as long as I live. There is no bargain worth that amount of hell.

I think Black Friday is like the Super Bowl Sunday for women.

If you remember right someone was actually trampled to death at Walmart! What was all the commotion for? To save $10.00 on a $50.00 DVD Player?

It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving when every store in the land puts on great sales to save shoppers a buck. It's also known as the "busiest shopping day of the year." Generally it's a bunch of people pushing and shoving each other around to save $20 on a digital camera. Most sales start at like 5am. It's madness and I swore I would never go out on Black Friday again and I haven't since.

Well, it's almost like an American holiday. It always occurs the day after our big National Holiday of Thanksgiving and its basically the big kickoff to the Christmas Season and people go to the stores and malls to shop and hopefully get a bargain.

In business terms, it's called "black" because that's the point of the year when retailers finally flip a profit. The rest of the year they are in the "red" which is not good.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the States and is considered the first official day of Christmas shopping. Lots of stores have really big sales, especially "early bird" sales starting at 5 or 6 am, so bargain hunters will line up outside before the store opens, and the most popular stuff will be gone pretty quickly. Most people don't work that day, so basically, stores see massive crowds, especially discount stores like Walmart. If you can push, shove, and punch your way to that last $10 discounted DVD player and successfully guard it until you reach the register, you win. Last year a security guard at Walmart was actually trampled to death, the crowds were so large when they opened up the store.

Most stores have sales and are very busy. I think they only ones that get really bad are places like Walmart, because they give discounts on the "hot" toys and electronics for the year. I don't really think it's worth it for me personally, though I wouldn't be opposed to going to smaller stores for sales, since, while they're crowded, there's still decent stuff there after they've been opened for 15 minutes, and mom's aren't beating people up for tickle me elmo's or whatever the media is telling people they MUST BUY for their kids this X-mas.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

I find Black Friday one of the silliest things about the US. Not that we don't have important shopping days around our holidays in Holland, but not like two months prior.

I've shopped the last 5 years in a row. The first few years you learn where NOT to go. Toys R Us is a big no-no no matter what time of day. Walmart is ok if you go a few hours after they open. I always stop there and get my kids the pajamas they have on sale for dirt cheap. Silly, but fun.

You might laugh at me, but I really only hit certain stores that I feel are worth standing in line for. Home Depo, Lowes, and Menards are the 3 I always hit first thing in the morning. Nothing like some discounted tools to start my day!

I was working at Wal-Mart when the Furbies(however you spell them I do not care) and we had a woman punch another woman during a Black Friday sale. Ugghh I do not miss those years. I do not know about most most of you live but the stores but where I live most of them will give you the sale price after the sale just to get rid of the product easier.
