How hyped was that game though, Machu? "From the creator of Doom, it has to be good!"

I was super hyped Sean, what with my love of Doom and Quake. But yeah, that was ten years ago, I have learned now. Duke Nukem broke my hype bone Forever.

New Super Mario Bros Wii. Way too many dissapointments to say. I want to love it, just because its mario, but I really dont. I wish nintendo might follow sega's path and make a super mario bros 4 with 8 bit graphics on wiiware.

I hate to disappoint you, but Sega is NOT setting that lead. If you watched the teaser for the new Sonic, it's obvious that the sprites are not modeled on the 16 bit games. In fact, the character model looks like crap--way too smooth. When he spins, there's no sense of speed. He looks like a solid blue billiard ball. So if you don't like what they did with Mario, then you won't like Sonic 4.

Sorry, I meant a cross between sonic 4 and megaman 10. 8 bit mario gooooodness!

I would definitely buy a new 8-bit mario with improved techniques. Sadly, I doubt nintendo is going to do that.

Just let it happen.

Wait, are we basically all asking for a sort of Super Mario Bros 1 sequel here? That sounds... boring. As classic as SMB1 was, let's not forget that we're talking about a game with 4 types of level (ground, sky, castle and underwater) and about 8 types of enemy. And 1 boss fight that recurred 8 times. What more could you do with that than what was done - and absolutely nailed - when it first came out? It'd just feel like a ROM hack with not-quite-as-good levels.

Umm... Spy vs Spy for NES I think. I was fooled by the license since I love the MAD comic, and after the first few days it became really dull. I didn´t know this as a kid, but the C 64 original actually looks a lot better too! And sounds better of course.

We didn't necisarrily say "make it just like super mario bros.". They could add in new bosses, new worlds, and lots of stuff.

Just let it happen.

I actually share those same sentiments, Feenie. I just can't get used to the whole time dealie, no matter how hard I try.

I know, and that's one of the reasons I have trouble liking it. I'm just terrible with time limits, and before y'all jump me because they give you enough time (I know they do), I'd rush even if the time limit was like 20 hours. That's just the way I am, and when you couple that with a Zelda game (which is usually a series I take it pretty slow and just explore), it makes it nearly unplayable for me. I really just want to like it, but I can't.

lol, are you trying to start something? 'Cause I wasn't; I was just expressing my feelings.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Kid Icarus dissapointed me a great deal. I was hope for a fun experience with it but overall it is just a rage fest for me. Final Fantasy 9 was also a let down for me. After playing 4,7 and 8 I had big hopes for 9 but I just did not like the characters enough to get into it. I know a lot of people bow before it's awesomeness but i just can't see it. defense mode

Scribblenauts was definitely a disappointment for me too...How could you possibly screw up such an awesome concept with horrible controls?!?

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Final Fantasy XII. Vaan just ruins it to begin with, and it never really truely begins, like in FF7 when you leave Midgar you feel that now the real adventure begins. FFXII's beggining just keeps going, and going, and going...

I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!

FF8 worst characters I have encountered + story so awful, I doubt anyone could deliberately set out to write worse and suceed, Banana Blitz and Bomberman Blast are my biggest disapointments on wii, both come from great franchises, yet these 2 versions where awful IMO.

but with 8-bit or 16-bit graphics. And not so complicated, a bit simpler than that.

Just let it happen.

If they were going to go back and make a truly 8/16 bit version of Mario again, the only right thing to do would be to model it on Mario 3. Toss NSMB DS out the window. Mario 3 had great, open, FUN stages. Mario World was fantastic, but Mario 3 was the epitome. All the power-ups were FUN, and well-used... with the exception of the Hammer Bros and Tanooki Suit (because it was basically a clone of the Super Leaf), but they were both rare enough that it was something to get excited about when you got one of those, especially the Hammer Bros outfit.

I would drop the wall-jumping and a lot of the new aesthetics in a heartbeat if we could get a Mario Bros 3.5.

@MickeyMac I started playing FF4 on the DS. It got so tough so quickly! And so many options to buy! GAHH!

Hm...yeah, apparently FF4 for the DS is one of the harder ones. I haven't played it, so I can't really give you much advice(other than save more often), hopefully someone else can help you with that. If difficulty is your main problem with it, then I'd suggest you wait until FF4 comes out on Virtual Console, and once you've played through that, maybe you could go back to the DS version and see if it's any easier or more enjoyable once you understand it more.
