Topic: Best/Worst Impulse Buys?

To be clear, an impulse buy is when you purchase/download a game, but had no actual plans to get it in the first place. You're kind of swept up in the moment.
For instance: I in terms of downloadable titles, I got Mario vs. DK MMA! I've never played anything from that series, and it was never really on my radar...However, I found it to be overwhelmingly enjoyable!
On the other hand, I also impulsively bought Wario Ware Snapped!, and I barely play it at all anymore...
So, what games have you impulsively bought? Was it worth it?

I'm working on a game that's coming out soon!

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection this past Saturday and yes it was worth it.
Defend Your Castle on the other hand, wasn't.

Worst: Every game I got with my PS2. I didn't get a single game I planned on buying beforehand, and 2/3 of them were disppointments. That was the last time I ever went game shopping with my sis...In fact, I still don't have many of the games I wanted...

Best: Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime

Off the top of my head...

Bully (Wii version): I'd ignored this game when it originally came out on PS2 because it looked like "GTA in a school" and I'd gotten bored with both of the GTA games I'd tried within a couple hours. But I happened to pick up the Wii version on sale and I was surprised to find that it was actually pretty decent.

BlastWorks: I picked this up not knowing too much about it, just that a lot of people online had been saying good things about it, it supposedly had some sort of Katamari inspired gameplay, and it was already super cheap. Well... I can see how it'd be a nice little package for bullet hell shooter fans and people who love creating their own levels. Unfortunately, I am neither. This just isn't my thing, and I could have saved the money if I'd looked into it a little more first.

Well its hard seeing as I like just about anything but I'll do my best and I'll choose something that isn't big in franchise like Mario:

Best: Muramasa: The Demon Blade (I wasn't for sure if I would like it but I preordered it and loved it!)
Worst: Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz (First Time Playing Series and Was Awful)

I could probably think of others but thats all that comes off the top of my head for now.

Worst: Rabbids Lab, even after reading the review. Please don't ask, It was just an incredibly stupid moment.
Best: Super Smash Bros. Melee. Need I give an explanation as to why this was a good impulse buy?

Just let it happen.

So, logically speaking, you've only made 1 impulse buy in your life?

Just let it happen.

I bought Battle Rage. Played it for a whole 16 minutes. Waste of $10, sold it back for $2.25.

Best: Ar Tonelico 2: Was not sure what i was getting into with this one but it came with a small art book and a soundtrack so i decided to pick it up. To my delight the game is great.

Worst: DBZ Sagas: This game... ugh probably one of the worst buys I ever made and it was only 5$. It was not even worth that. It was pure utter aids. I traded it in recently just to get rid of it from my collection.

J_Bitties

Best: Hands down, without question, the first Bioshock

Worst: The two horrible Star Tropics games...don't know what they were thinking. Was it, "Public? You think the first one was bad, you wait and play the sequel!"

Anyways, 95% of my purchases are usually well thought out but those are the best and worst.

Aw yeah, I was thinking of getting it just from the beautiful art. No clue what the gameplay is supposed to be like, but if I can find it cheap, I'll definitely pick it up and give it a go.

Best (in recent memory): Geist. Just got it the other day, and i am addicted. strongly reminiscent of the Prime series... which is NEVER a bad thing.

Worst: Turok (Evolution, i believe... for the GC). pretty much a "bleh" FPS with a horrid framerate, ugly graphics, and a camera that literally made me puke from nausea. i haven't the foggiest why the series is so praised.
