Topic: Best way to find shrines in Zelda BOTW?

I have the Shiekah artifact that alerts you to shrines nearby but I'm still having trouble finding the shrines. I only found maybe 12-15 and the map and guidebook I used from Piggyback isn't too helpful. What are some of the better ways to locate the shrines?

@Don The best way is just to explore.Search every nook and cranny as we'd say in Scotland.Some are easy to find,there's always one near villages and stables for example.Keep your eye out for the orange glow of a shrine when your up high or up a tower and use a stamp or pin to mark it on the map. Some shrines you'll just happen to stumble across while others are well hidden and off the beaten path.I'd recommend not using a guide at all as that takes away a lot of the fun of exploration.I don't use the Sheikah Slate at all,I find it annoying.But if you do want to use it,it certainly helps.

I found the vast majority of shrines just by seeing them in the distance. Climb up high,look around, I remember often having to choose between 2 or 3, pick a direction and go.

Birds alsoflock in large numbers above shrines,and their flying V formations point to shrines.
