These are games you might have played a lot as a kid, but you never hear much about it from other people.
I'll start off: who remembers the adventure gem Tombs & Treasure on the NES? That was one of my favorite games as a kid. It still holds up pretty well today.
Rockin Kats. It was a platformer for the NES developed by Atlus. I am not quite sure why it was unheard of because from what I can remember it had good graphics and the story was good too. But I remember that none of my friends at the time heard of this game when I would talk about it.
Yeah. And I think Micky Rourke was one of the main characters in that animated movie. Its been a really long time since I seen it though.
I didn't even know it was a tie-in with a movie until very recently, which was a bit of a surprise. I'd always thought of it as that weird game where you drug random animals with candy and then wear their skins,

Lol! Yeah, candy is a pretty powerful thing. I suppose that's why parents always say not to take any from strangers.
If you count GBA games as retro, I think the Lilo and Stitch game for it is pretty decent, if not surprisingly difficult. It's like Metal Slug with passwords, though they don't come very often. Either way, good game.
Chocobo Racing on the PlayStation 1. I like it more than any Mario Kart game. Truth.
Wake of the Ravager: The best D & D game, bar none. That makes it the best RPG ever. Yes, it has bugs, but the setting, the design and the very non-linear story more than make up for it.
It's actually a Japanese "bullet hell" scrolling shooter entitled Castle of Shikigami, but was retitled for western release (it's box art was some generic sci-fi/Charlie's Angels knock off look, that had nothing to do with the game whatsoever).
TBH, I don't remember how good of a game it actually was, but I remember me and my best friend had loads of fun trying to beat it (we never did), and laughing at the ludicrous enemy designs (the first boss was a giant human head with butterfly wings, I kid you not).
