I like Japanese beers, and other asian beers when Japanese beers aren't around. Sapporo is the best, then Asahi, Kirin, Tiger and Tsing Tao, in that order.
I don't like Fosters. No one in Australia likes Fosters. That's a myth perpetuated by the rest of the world to make Australians look like they have bad taste in their beers. But the joke's on the rest of the world, because Australia makes money out of selling you guys the foulest dregs we can find.
I've also never seen Fosters in a shop here in Australia.
Also, American beers suck, except for Sam Adams. That's nice.
beer is lame. Chu-Hi is the best~ totally wish i could get some here in the US as easily as i could in Japan, it's seriously the best and i miss it :/

Oh please. No one drinks liquor. They drink a few drops drowned in a sea of coke or coffee or whatever.
If you drank Cognac straight, then we could talk.

Pardon? Beer ain't alcohol. Only a real man (and theblackdragon) would drink real alcoholic beverages

They don't? I drink Jack straight up all the time. Now that's how you grow a pair.
As for beer, saying American beers sucking is dead wrong. The beers coming from the giant distributors sucking is much more accurate. There are dozens of fantastic smaller brands. Of which I highly recommend:
Matt from Hair of the Dog- has a nice smokey taste you won't find anywhere else.
Goose Island Rare Bourbon County Stout- I've heard people compare it to Guinness due to the head and color, but aside from that and the bitterness they're quite different.
Firestone Walker Parabola-Probably the smoothest beer I've ever drunk.

As much as doing a beer tour of America would indeed be grand, you've got to understand that comparing the "off the shelf" beer in America to Australia or Japan makes America look about as interesting as eating raw monkey meat from Africa.
It's the same with coffee. Yes, there are a few nice cafes in the US but for the most part all you see is crap of Starbucks quality, if not worse, especially if you're not a local.
@Waltz: I think you missed the part where he said 'The beers coming from the giant distributors sucking is much more accurate' — he seems to be agreeing that most of the stuff on shelves here in the US is crap. it's the smaller (regional?) brands and/or microbrews that are worth looking out for.
