What are some bands that you used to like, but you just kind of "grew out of it?"
I don't know if I can really say there are any bands I've "grown out of", but I used to be obsessed with Creed, and I don't listen to them nearly as much as I used to. I did like their new CD that just came out, though.

Nickelback, Creed, Vertical Horizon, and Sugar Ray are a few I used to like but don't listen to much anymore.

I love Breaking Benjamin, but all of their CDs are beginning to sound alike. I think they need to mix it up a bit.

Linkin Park, Guns N Roses, Nickelback, Staind, Creed and Theory of a Deadman are just a few.

I grew out of my Heavy Metal stage before I left high school ... so while I'll still listen to them now and again, it's very infrequently. Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax mostly.

Currently playing: Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA), Infinite Space (NDS)

I was in love with Shirley Manson in Garbage and really liked their music. The first album was awesome and the 2nd had it's moments but everything after that really sucked.

Marilyn Manson...oh to get back to those Portrait of an American Family days...

Vendetta

Pop Will Eat Itself, Nitzerebb, KMFDM, ummmm.... Hall & Oats, Men at Work... how far back are we going here? And also, do the bands still need to be performing, only we're not listening any more? 'Cause that might shorten my answer somewhat.

Vendetta

Ramandus

Vendetta, Hall & Oates? lol.

I've been lucky that when I was a kid, I didn't listen to mainstream music. I was really into movie soundtracks, like John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer type stuff. I don't really listen to those CDs anymore, but I wouldn't call them irrelevant or crap.

I did buy a 50 Cent cd once, and that is probably my biggest CD mistake. The worst part is that it was from Wal-Mart, so every other word was edited out.

Somebody set up us the bomb.

Maroon 5 and Third Eye Blind. I listen to them every once in a while, but not often.

Nine Inch Nails... first few albums were good, but after awhile its hard to pull off that "ultra-bleak" music without sounding non-genuine. I mean there's nothing worse than a millionare pretending to be suicidal -- just to make more millions!

Don't get me wrong there are plenty of "dark" bands I like, but "ultra bleak" just gets kind of redunant eventually.

T-Gen, Trent was drunk, stoned, suicidally depressed, and being robbed to near bankruptcy by his "manager," whom he had to take to court to recoup the losses. His art was genuine, even if self-induced.

Well, Depeche Mode had similar problems -- their lead singer was even technically dead for a few minutes! However, they still sound more optimistic to me, plus they don't throw half full water bottles at their fans.

Can't really think of any bands that I've grown to dislike.
AC/DC used to be one of my favorite bands but has fallen to "just a band I generally enjoy."
I used to hate Nickelback but then I discovered "The State."
Stone Temple Pilots used to bore me but now they are easily one of my favorite bands of all time.

I guess after Stadium Arcadium I've had some trouble taking RHCP seriously.
