OH NO!!!! Adam's evil plan worked, he avoided the banning thread by turning it into a discussion about the localization of Earthbound again, wow hes good,
Especially not if the ZANY sackboy with his tongue hanging out selling 3 copies. The interactive blu-ray movie that is Metal gear solid trouser snake...Like dragon's lair before it. warhawk... bwahaha. resistance 2, 4 hour game. nice. Drakes fortune is nice though....
Secretly? I thought I was being pretty open about it, actually. Plus, the new Earthbound info IS well worth talking about and making widely known, so BONUS!
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
I will end this once and for all...Earthbound just happens to be a diamond in the rough...A bright light in a dark tunnel...Whatever legal issues that may be delaying the release has no effect on the fact it is amazing...You are all soiling the greatness of Earthbound and should be ashamed...FOR SHAME!
@ Zane I think you are responding to the wrong thread? I mean, obviously nothing is off topic here, but I remember talking about PS3 in some other thread. Maybe not. I'm too lazy to click Previous and see for myself.
But while we are talking about it, I did just list five games, yes, but a list of every game I enjoyed on PS3 would be long and pointless. I picked some of the best examples. Anyway, here is my overly elaborate response that you didn't ask for.
I'm not sure why you laugh at Warhawk. It is one of the best multi-player games I've ever played, second perhaps only to Smash Brothers.
Metal Gear Solid actually has very enjoyable game play. I don't see why a game should be faulted just because it has lengthy, skippable cutscenes in addition to a great game. It's the first 3D game since Mario 64 that I have wanted to play through more than once. Also, the online mode rules. It's like military hide and seek!
Little Big Planet sold well enough, and sales are not an indicator of quality. Lots of great games end up missing out on sales for myriad reasons that have nothing to do with the game's quality.
I never even touched Resistance 2's single-player mode. Judging a game by how many "hours" it is is an absolutely bizarre way to measure quality, especially when it has an absolutely splendid multi-player mode, online and off. I spent well over 4 hours on it, and that was just from a rental.
I've actually played a lot more PSN games though: Ratchet and Clank, Pixel Junk Monsters, PJ Eden, The Last Guy, Symphony of the Night (PSOne Classic), 1942, and many others (I'm actually almost out of space, believe it or not!).
The new Uncharted looks like it'll be good, though I barely played the first one, just a demo. FFXIII and Fat Princess look extremely promising, too.
Sure, the system does not appeal to everyone, but to say the games are flat-out not good is incorrect.
Also, @Adam: I'm almost positive that Mother 1 has the least legal problems of the trilogy.
I know at least Retro Hippy has stolen music. I don't know about the rest. It was just a guess since the game is so similar to EB.
Mother 3 though... aside from a few seconds of Mr. Batty's Twist that could easily be edited out without having to change the rest of the song, I don't see much that needs changing. Of course, it's hard to judge when I can only go by an unofficial localization. So much of the Mother 3 World is pure fantasy and not an imitation America like the first two games were.
@adam i think I didn't say it has no good games, but it has to few to make me buy the machine (or anyone else for that matter). 90$ for a 4 hour game is always bad and LBP should have been released on wii and the system would have sold another 10million machines...
And btw Ban Adam he has funny opinions.
P.a.i.n. is wonderful and 2010 looks to be the best year for a ps3 gamer. Now go buy wiispeak Adam and the conduit or you will miss out on some hilarious profanity.
@ Zane $90? Dang, that is too much for any game, Mother 3, Super Mario Kart, and Symphony of the Night excluded, of course. It was only $60 on release over here, and maybe less by now. I should check into that. But 4 hours? The multi-player offers infinite hours. It's fun for as long as you have someone to play with, like any good multi-player game. Such a game shouldn't be judged by campaign mode.
Also, Pain is awful! Get The Last Guy if you want downloadable goodness. Or Symphony of the Night, if you want the one PS1 Classic that trumps the entirety of the VC.
Also also, I will likely never get Wii Speak. You will have to settle for imagining my text comments here in an appropriately deep, manly voice.
