So sad, but you trump me with that, after I worked so hard and even incorporated the EDIT into my last mirrored feat.

You can ban me, but you'll have to catch me first.
Would you use the Phase Distorter to escape?

Chatham brings up a good point. I don't think any of you have what it takes. Making one or two threads about it is one thing, but actively working to turn every thread into a discussion of how Iwata promised Earthbound when he unveiled the VC and failed to deliver ... that is a full-time job, and the pay is not that great either.
Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

@Adamthe pay is still better than an MS testing job! Lol.
And yes, that is a full time job... and I commend you for it. Mother/Earthbound is the most unique RPG series EVER and it deserves to see the light of day on the NA VC!!! (Even the Mother NES import!)
71. Posted: Thu 11th Jun 2009 19:34 BST
Yeah...I like to help Adam out on the Mother front from time to time, but I would have to agree that he's more vocal about it than I.

For the record...I went about the task of completing post play survey's at Club Nintendo. I has 23 surveys lined up for the VC titles. I can tell you, this was my last line for every survey when asked my thoughts on the game in my own words..."The game was good......WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO RELEASE EARTHBOUND ON THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE?????????????"...True story...I think if everyone was to answer these surveys as this, we may get the point across, what do you think? And Adam, if you are banned, I will carry the torch!
73. Posted: Thu 11th Jun 2009 19:44 BST
Way to go, Danny August! Realistically, I'm not sure that'll actually have much of an impact, but I guess it's worth a try!
74. Posted: Thu 11th Jun 2009 19:46 BST
Thank you, Ness. I know I can count on you.
Also, I definitely gave a lengthy shout out to Earthbound in multiple VC post-play surveys. I'm surprised Starmen.net haven't organized something around this survey thing, though it's probably for the best. Their organized petitioning stuff seems to insincere. Lots of spontaneous and polite requests are likely more convincing.
EDIT: Whoops, another Ness replied. I was referring to Danny's post, though it's the same subject either way.

While we're on the subject of Earthbound, I have news from a trustworthy but naturally non-nameable source: Nintendo is currently looking to either edit the game to cut out the stuff their legal team is worried about for a VC release, or remake the game. The main problem with the latter and possibly even the former option is that they STILL aren't convinced people would buy it if they released it! So if anybody can think of some magical way to get it through Nintendo's adamantium scull that we WILL buy this game in any format they give us, PLEASE post it!

I sure hope that works out, if true. I don't mind censorship if it doesn't take away from the game's integrity. Earthbound is a fantastic localization, actually, despite a lengthy (and usually admittedly nitpicky) analysis that Tomato's worked on about how the translation often is a bit off. I'm confident Nintendo can retain the game's quality -- or dare I say, improve it. Bring it on, NoA.
But don't think that'll get you off the hook for Mother 3! I'll make you a deal, Reggie. Give me EB on VC and M3 in whatever form you like, and I promise I won't even ask for the original Mother, which would probably be just as big a pain to make legal-friendly as EB.

If they remade Earthbound for WiiWare, I would [play it then] die in happiness.
I made Kid Tripp! PocketGamer gave it a 9 out of 10! You should totally buy it now!
