Anybody likes Tagaki? He's my favorite character. I like him because he is like the badbutt nerd a kind of person you don't know in your every day life because nerds are strereotyped as whimps by the media which I don't like. Tagaki he's a smartpatootie sometimes and he punched a jerk who was talking down Mashiro, awesome!

Please watch the profanity — TBD

Hahaha. Badbutt. I thought I was the only person that uses that to censor the actual term incase of kids.
Cool to see someone make a thread about this, I LOVE Bakuman. The characters are all fantastic and I love seeing them grow and improve. Bakuman is probably the closest I've felt attached to the main characters in a long time. I love Saiko's determination and perseverance. How much he does for Miho is adorable. I get so excited to read the next vol. of the manga when it comes out! I still need to read 18! So sad it's coming to a close soon.

Takagi's cool. I love his design and he is a pretty cool dude.

This show has some of the funniest facial expressions ever for me btw!

Its pretty awesome and original and cool and stuff. While I love action shonen, it is so nice that someone (well 2 people) at Jump is like "let's make something as non-shonen as possible that is still somehow shonen". I'm not sure if Ohba and Obata are doing a new series are but I hope so, as I always approve of variety...pretty much everywhere.

The entire manga is a perfect balance of trying to be a realistic look at the manga industry while still being shonen and goofy and it's all very genuine and fun and the characters are great. Eiji Nizuma isn't even my favorite character but my sense of humor in the past year or two has been noticeably influenced by his bizarre, not quite sane, love for fiction and creating fiction.

I also highly appreciate how it avoids cliched, dramatic storylines and turns non-cliched stories into something dramatic. With maybe 2 exceptions (as of volume 14), there's no characters who I could particularly call villains in anyway. I loved how Eiji was so set-up as the "villain" and yet is just a super nice guy. I love how it uses arguments in ways that aren't annoying and make sense (barring maybe volume 6 which was a bit...much). I love how every manga they show could easily exist, and don't tend to come off as parodies. I forget the name off the top of my head, I'm genuinely disappointed the kid crime club or whatever will pretty certainly never actually be a manga.

I've seen the first two seasons of the anime and have enjoyed it very much. It's got such a great, diverse, range of characters who are all really well thought out. I agree with you on Takagi, he's one of my favorite characters along with Kaya, Aoki and most of all Fukuda! The interaction between the characters is what makes it such a good anime although and although Mashiro and Azuki's relationship is nice (even if it is a bit cliche at times), I like Takagi and Kaya as a couple more.

It would be cool to see what Perfect Crime Party would be like if it was an actual manga/anime series. It would certainly be unique.

The anime has some fantastic ending themes, I love the first three and the fourth is okay. However, I found the first opening to be very corny both in it's lyrics and the way it sounded but the second was okay.

Yeah when I'm in Japan one of these days I'm gonna have to pay a visit to Shuesha and say hey I read your manga! I always wondered after reading it if they were using real facts and statistics about the manga industry?

It'd honestly be interesting to see. My guess is it's mostly true with a few changes here or there for dramatic convenience. What I find more interesting would be to see how much of it is based on their own experiences. I mean, it's a 2 person team usually making non-mainstream manga, so it fits too well to not be heavily based on reality in some regard.

See this is what makes entertainment great when you watch something thats say for example Scy fy or fantasy, fighting, realistic fiction but that never took place in real life. It's nice when they make it semi realistic. Like having a character quote Albert Einstein, talk about statistics about the manga industry but have them be real statistics you looked up from the internet or read about in book and having characters that are fictional talk about them. Hell Beowulf is a fantasy based on a real poem. I love this stuff!
