You too? I ordered 2 cheeseburgers from the drive thru, and when I got home to eat the burgers, there were only the fries, the straw, and a few napkins in the bag!

Lol oh man thats bad. I guess it's a good thing to at least reach in the bag and feel around to make sure you have a general feel that everything is there.

Could be Erbert&Gerbert's, or...
Oh, I know! I bet it's Potbelly Sandwich Works!

Wait, why am I even trying to guess? I don't think I really want to know (not that it would stop me from eating at any of those places, as I'm sure this is an isolated incident specific to the location you visited).

Nope, Golds, I've never heard of those places to be honest.

I could go on all day with this thread. There's the NY Deli I nicknamed "Whiskers" (use your imagination), the deep-fried beetle place out on Long Island's east end, the "Maggot Roll" sushi joint (again, figure it out), and then there was that place in France where I had what smelled like fried crotch-cheese with honey and caraway seeds... Yeah, you don't want to hear these.

Well, this wasn't at a restaurant, but it involves food service. So I was at Cold Stones (a Ben and Jerry's/Baskin Robbins sort of ice cream store) and was looking through the toppings. One of them said, and i quote, "Chocolate covered crickets - Yes, real crickets!" It was really weird, so I asked if I could try one. I tasted like a Kit Kat! Go figure..... (This was years ago, they don't have them anymore, in case you're wondering.)

Crickets are considered a delicacy in some countries.

Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

And octopus, and pufferfish (fugu), and dog (ugh..), the list can go on for a while. Although octopus is supposed to be quite good, and if the calamari is any indication, I'm sure it is.

Some unimaginable huge ratio that is so big my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about. (1 dozen invisible Thin Mint cookies to you if you can find the reference.)

I know in Japan there are many who like to eat the stingers off the scorpion first.

Heres one about bad service:

My family and I were at a Denny's, my usual favorite place to eat in town. It was pretty busy that night and they seemed pretty understaffed. After we ordered, we waited and waited. After a half an hour, we began asking everyone about our food. We found out that they were indeed understaffed and that our waitress had walked out!

We ended up waiting almost two hours for our food. My family was getting frustrated and was discussing the possibility of walking out. I was the only one not willing to do it, but that didn't stop them. They each got up and began to leave. I didn't want to be left with the bill, so I got up and followed them out. On the way out, we noticed that our food was sitting on the counter! Our food was ready, just no one felt the need to deliver it to our table!

We usually had good service at that Denny's; that was the first time we have had any problems there. That Denny's closed down a month or two later; it seemed to have been open for all of my life, so it was sad to see it go. Thankfully, the building is now in use by a sweet Italian place called Napoli's.
