This past week sales of PS3 and Xbox360 surpassed that of the Wii. What should Nintendo do next? I believe that they should at least drop the Wii's price by $50. As for the current sales trend could be a one week ordeal. Only time will tell.
I agree a $50 dollar price cut would be a wise idea. They have made a lot of money off the Wii and its nearing its 3 year mark. It would be great marketing to drop it down another $50 before the holiday season. If I was them I would wait until October to make any moves. Also Chrono Cross has a good point Star Fox and other Nintendo properties might help bring back some of the old Nintendo fanbase that moved onto the PS3 and 360.
Looking ahead, I think both the PS3 and XBox 360 will see decent--but not necessarily spectacular--sales over the next couple of months. A lot of people who were waiting for the price cuts will go out and buy systems quickly, but the next big wave of sales will come closer to the holidays.
Wii sales can't keep up for much longer. Pretty much everyone has a Wii now. There's no one left to buy them. Nintendo has enough of a safety bubble of sales that PS3 won't surpass it, and everyone knows half of Xbox360 sales are from people who bought two or three because the freaking things self-destruct upon purchase

I know a guy that has a 360 and he has had his since launch. He was on his 4th after it went Red Ring of Death. lol. Good thing about Nintendo consoles is they usually last a long time !

I don't know. Countries like South Korea have only gotten them recently
Maybe a little pressure on Nintendo will be a good thing, they may start to listen to their customers more rather than doing whatever they want, it is never good for the consumer if one company monopolises a certain business sector, competition leads to a healthy market for the customer.
As for a price drop for the Wii try living in the UK where the price has just gone up by £20 (about $25)
Oh crap, nintendo is going to start releasing super awesome first party games! We HAVE to make sure they don't do something so crazy! Quickly, everyone buy a bunch of wii's!
The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I know how horrible this is I better by like 5 more wii's! Seriously I do imagine that with the release of some awesome games for the Wii, sales will pick up.
