The official name of this Spider-man game is Spider-man Vs the Kingpin and it's actually really awesome!!! But that awful drawn picture of everyone's favorite web-slinger on the box cover is absolutely horrendous. It's one of the worst renditions of Spidey I've ever seen!
Am I crazy for thinking this??? Does anyone know who drew the cover and was it drawn specifically for this game or was it taken from an old comic book? @the_shpydar???????
I've seen worse depictions of Spidey, but that cover does have a lot of problems, you're right - the scale, proportions and posing are all a bit off, making it an awkward pic overall. I have the game CIB (of course!), and there's no credit for who drew it. It's not taken from any specific comic, but obviously its a rendition of the standard Spidey-swinging-through-the-city shot that's been done on countless covers and such.
Ironically enough, the manual includes a short mini-comic that sets up the game's story which is actually very well drawn!
Holy crap, I had to grab my copy of Ōkami off of the shelf, and sure enough, the IGN logo is there. Quite clearly, I might add, it's a lot easier to see on the actual box art.
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
This one is terribly bland, barely any color at all.
But, that's the beauty of it! Honestly I don't see anything wrong with the Last Story. On the shelf it looks good next to Pandora's Tower, they really complement each other.

That's Capcom for ya. There had to be something wrong with the game.

Oh, I will have to look and see if the manual is still inside my copy of the box.
Another Genesis game that has some bad box cover art is the creepy looking Tommy Lasorda from Tommy Lasorda Baseball. This is truly a thing of nightmares....

Look closely, and you'll see that luigi and bowser are driving the wrong way!

Oh great, way to ruin the Mario Kart 8 box for me LOL I could have gone without knowing that, now I'm like wtf ruined, how could you do that!?
All the old Sega ones look like boring computer manuals or old VHS rental boxes where they give you a general image instead of the pretty box cause they threw it away.
Oh lordy. This guy is pure nightmares in a man's body. Those bees can leave me alone too.
Street Warrior:
These men look like they're wearing novelty padded costumes that they couldn't even put on properly. The inhuman bulging legs of the man on the left further proves my theory.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon (PAL)
Would perhaps be alright if not for TEH DURP BENTLEY. It makes the squished-down Gnasty Gnorc on the PAL Spyro 1 cover look acceptable. But the worst cover in the series is probably Japanese Spyro 2. The lens flare seals it.
Super Smash Bros. (PAL)
What am I looking at? Why is Donkey Kong happy to have an egg crash into his face? Also, this box art suffers from the same problem a lot of PAL N64 boxes did: the border.
The Bust-a-Move series does have some poor covers in its long history of box art. Here is another notable one: http://www.emuparadise.me/PSX/Covers/Bust-a-Move%202%20-%20Ar...
I don't like the Bust-a-Move 4 Dreamcast cover either (a variation of which is used for Bust-a-Move Millenium. So many Bust-a-Move games got released in those days. And they all used each other's cover arts.).
