Marketing has been pretty tame over here, except for the odd trailer on TV, which is more than welcome.
Nearly time now, can't wait to go see this. Yay! I have a cinema tradition.... Get very very 5t0n3d, and have a flaming sambuca in the bar, before heading into the theatre to zone out. I may have two sambuca's for Avatar. Woah!
Well, IGN UK liked it.... lots! I'll go searching for more reputable reviews tomorrow, but that's a pretty good start, them IGN UK boys seem alright. Yay!
I'm gonna see it tomorrow, probably. I have to say, they spent WAY to much on the advertising. Commercials every other minute, and a whole episode of Bones was based around it, and that show is like an hour long.
The Game.
Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.
Looking forward to seeing it Saturday with my girls! (Okay, so I'm not exactly seeing it with "my girls", I just wanted to say it because I've had the song 'My Girls' by Animal Collective stuck in my head, though. I'm seeing it with a girl, though )

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I was talking to my brother about when we were gonna see it, and he said.. "lets go on my birthday". So now, I am waiting till the 30th, doh! :/ Oh well, waited this long, a little longer wont hurt. much
My parents just got back from seeing it (I didn't go with them since I'm seeing it tomorrow with friends). They said it was visually incredible, but the story was basically Pochahontas (pardon the spelling) in space.

The comparisons between Pocahontas and Dances with wolves are everywere. However, the idea of having a real-life avatar to infiltrate in the Na'vi seems interesting.
I'm definitely gonna check out the 3D version at my local cinema this week.
Saw the 3D version last night with my brother-in-law. We both thought it was a great movie. The 3D wasn't chintzy ... they didn't do any of those intentional "lets shove something pointy at your face to make you flinch" moves (which was appreciated).
About the highest praise I can give this movie is that when looking at the Na'vi, nothing made them stick out as fake. Even when they were alongside humans, they "blended in". I didn't really realize this until after the movie was over ... subconsciously my brain just accepted everything as real. I think that's about as high praise as I can give this. It truly was an impressive feat.
The only drawback ... the $11 price to view the film. I consider it well spent though for this movie.
