Just wondering if anybody on these boards is a hobby photographer who might want to contribute some photographs for a fiction project I'll be launching next month.

It's a story I wrote a few years ago for a magazine that...went out of business before it could publish it. Whoops.

Rather than have it languish on my hard drive, though, since I think it's quite good, I'm going to set up some kind of presentation for it online, where it can hopefully be enjoyed by those who would, in fact, care to enjoy it.

I'd like to get some appropriate, fitting photographs to go along with it, being integrated into the page in some way. The trouble is that I'll need snowy pictures...and I don't think Florida's likely to get much snow this season.

So if anyone is interested, post here or email me at chickenbrutus (at) yahoo (dot) com, and I'll send you the story to read. If you feel confident that you can take appropriately "fitting" photographs, give me an idea of what you intend to do and we might be able to work something out.

Apologies for the vagueness, but I'm trying not to get too much into the story's content with this post.

No payment is being offered, but it's something you can use to pad out your portfolio or direct people toward, if you like. I'll even send you a Christmas card by way of saying thanks. (I've got a good one planned for this year.)

Well I'm interested but it only gets snowy here in Indiana in the Winter, would u be willing to wait that long for the photos?

EDIT: I'm a high school photography student, so I can get some fairly good photos.

I don't remember what real snow looks like. It's white, right? Is this helpful?

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

I can only speak for New Jersey, where the snow is grey, sticky, and offensively odorous. But television and film have me convinced it must look beautiful SOMEWHERE else.

Regarding the questions of when I'll need them: Ideally I'd like to work on the page next month, and launch it in December. An important part of the action centers around New Year's Eve, so it's effectively seasonal.

But, yeah, I can't rightfully expect anyone to get me snowy photos before it actually starts snowing, so I may end up having to publish late. If that's the case...it's alright. The story waited two years or so for me to do anything with it; another delay won't kill it.

So short answer: given the choice, I'd like to be working on it next month. Since it's more Mother Nature's choice than mine, though, I won't mind a delay.

I'd love to but everytime I look outside, the sun's glare would just reflect off the snow and blind me. And I don't have a camera but my sister does and she said it's strictly for posting pics on Facebook.

I would love to get you some pictures, my sister is going to get a camera for Christmas, and I can take some pics if it snows.
Of course, it doesn't really snow a lot here in some parts of NC, but if it snows after Christmas, I'll definitely get some pictures for you.

Thanks for the responses, folks. I'm looking for somebody who would be interested in employing a certain amount of "artistry" in the pictures he/she provides. In other words, I don't just want pictures of snow...I want something that can comment on the mood and feel of the story, and something that demonstrates the creativity of the photographer in his/her own right.

That would be something I'm learning about in class. I'm also researching professional photography as a senior project.

Awesome, irk. Shoot me an email (address in first post) and I'll get you a copy of the story. You can tell me if you get any idea of what you'd like to do. Also, do you have any samples of your stuff online?

Not yet, but I can try emailing some of my work to you sometime. I usually specialize in film-based photographs, but I do work with digital as well.

Objection

I might be interested in helping as well. I have a semester's worth of Digital Photography under my belt and a 10MegaPixel camera as well.
