I've always been a loyal Nintendo fan, at lest I consider myself a loyal Nintendo fan.

Back when I was very young, about the age of 5, (I was born in 1988) I was introduced to the wonderful world of Nintendo. My cousin had a Nintendo NES and SEGA Genesis. I must admit that I was impressed with Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails but nothing made such an impression upon me as did Mario and his signature "Mama Mia" statement. Ever since then I've always followed Nintendo through thick and thin.

Throughout the late 90's I was impressed with the Nintendo GameBoy and enjoyed playing on the GameCube of others, then in late 2004/ 2005 an associate gave my sister a Nintendo DS and then not long after my Mother bought me a Nintendo DS AKA "DS Phat" which I lost not long after and then I acquired a DS Lite. Then it went out back in late 2006. In 2009 I finally got a Nintendo DSi and our family got a Wii.

However, my sister and I both got a PSP between my DS Lite going out and the release of the Nintendo DSi. Yet, I did not get the PSP because I'm of fan if SONY as my sister and I are not big fans of SONY anyway. We got PSP's because we were tricked into thinking it had constant free of charge internet and video chat when it did not. Then I decided to keep my PSP for the sake of ModNation Racers and Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2, but with the dawn of the Nintendo 3DS I'm quite sure I'll trade my PSP for the 3DS.

I've been pretty Loyal. Initially, I starting off with an SNES and now I currently have a wii. The XBOX was the only non-nintendo system I bought...(I mainly bought it for the Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix games) ... It dosen't matter how many non-nintendo related systems I buy... I'll always be a nintendo fanboy at heart... T^T

I used to be a Nintendo fanboy, starting in the days of N64/PS, but then I became friends with a PlayStation fanatic, and I slowly learned the error of my ways by the time I got to college. Now I have a PS2, but I don't have [as] many games for it, because I'm still a bigger fan of Nintendo. I want a PS3, but I can't afford that right now, and I have plenty of games I still need to finish. I have no interest whatsoever in XBox. Okay, that's a lie. I wish I could play Perfect Dark Zero and the remake for XBLA because I'm a HUGE fan of PD. I still play it fairly often these days. Other than that, there are some good titles on the 360, but nothing I'm too excited about.

we got a ps2 years ago because all we had was a gamecube and we kept seeing ads for games that were only on ps2 and xbox.

Absolutely this. Just having two Wiis and the DS is a bit much for me which is why I've practically stopped buying games for the time being.

Of course it also helps that I'm not that interested in the majority of Nintendo's core franchises ^_~.

Answer your question? I get the console with the games I like that's affordable for my situation. I really like Ninty's first party games, and the Wii was affordable. There are a couple games for PS3 I'd like to play, but I really just don't have time for more than one console per gen. We'll see if 3DS continues the "affordable" trend. If not, I may just start buying more games on the app store, wait for a price drop, and/or just play my old portables.

A Nintendo console was enough to me in SNES and N64 days. But this generation I wouldn't last long with only a Wii. Almost all of my favourite third party developers have switched to the competitors over the years. And Nintendo lost some of their magic to me. It's just too much of the same every console generation (Mario, Zelda, ...) missing brand new franchises and creative ideas (apart from 'casual' innovations). Although I like most of Nintendo's classic franchises, the void created by the loss of Rare was never really replaced by Nintendo. And I prefer the hardware and software library of Sony's and Microsoft's consoles way over Nintendo's Wii in this generation for the first time ever. I use my Wii mainly for Virtual Console and only once in a while for first party games. The Wii is a great success for Nintendo but I don't really enjoy their new approach to videogaming. I'm just way more excited about other games this generation like Mass Effect 1+2, Brütal Legend, Fallout 3, Bayonetta, Oblivion, Red Dead Redemption, Heavy Rain.

I bought the gamecube pretty late in its lifespan, and it was my first console since I was pretty much an exclusive PC gamer before that. I bought because I was really interested in the nintendo first party titles and wanted some multiplatform third party titles that just play better on a console or are console exclusive (prince of persia, ssx3, THPS and the likes) I liked it so much that I was pretty hyped for the launch of the wii and I bought it at launch, haven't regretted it one bit. Also bought an DSi last year and still love it too. My choice for Nintendo is mainly because they just give experiences that you don't get on other consoles, and the console multiplatforms get released most of the time for pc to (used to be the case though :s)

But for quite a while now the PS3 is very attractive to me, and I'm planning to buy it in the future (if the price gets even lower than it is now ) Never been a fan of the Xbox 360 though, not that I don't think its good or something it just doesn't do it for me, wrong kind of exclusives and the wrong main focus of the system for me.

I've been Nintendo-loyal my whole life. Mostly because Nintendo has a lot of games that appeal to me such as Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Mario, The Conduit, etc. I never really had a desire to buy a non-Nintendo console Maybe one day I will, but for now, I'm all Nintendo.

I've only ever owned Nintendo consoles and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon, especially since most games I want to play that aren't available on Nintendo's consoles are available on PC, so I figure once I have some money to build myself a gaming PC that's where I'll get my non-Nntendo fix. Nintendo's got the franchises, the gameplay and they don't resort to any petty tactics like smear campaigns against their competitors and their products (sony!) to sell their merchandise, so why would I possibly look elsewhere for my gaming needs?

I don't personally see why anyone would feel the need to be 'loyal' to a company.

I got a PS2 about a year ago, and I'm getting a PS3 on thursday.
The PS2 kind of fell into my hands, but the PS3 will actually be the first console I buy with my own money.
The reason I'm buying it isn't because I'm fed up with Nintendo. Not at all--in fact I'm considering holding off on buying it because there's so many fantastic Wii games coming out. I just happen to really like the PS3's library these days. I positively love LittleBigPlanet and Uncharted 2. I'm interested in inFamous, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Red Dead Redemption and in getting to play a proper Fifa game. I'm excited for L.A. Noir, the Last Guardian and LittleBigPlanet2. Just made sense, I guess.

I've always been multiplatform and part of the reason I'm not loyal to Nintendo is that I really don't like the company. Not the products, but the company itself. Even as a nine year old when the NES was released, I knew that what they did to the 3rd parties was wrong and I laughed my off when it came back to bite them in the during the N64 and (partially) the Gamecube eras, but it sems they've learned that they aren't the only dogs on the porch now and treat them a bit better.

As for handhels, I guess I'm a Nintendo fanboy, but that almost goes without saying considering every other handheld has been a POS other than the GB,GBA, GBASP and DS.

Always been and hopefully always will be
My first system was a GBA, and I went on to get a Gamcube, Wii, and all the handheld sucessors that werent just differences in size (GBM and DSiXL). Although there are games I want on other platforms such as 3D Dot Game Heros, I dont want to get another consel because Ill be spending way too much money on games, and the games I want for other platforms are few and far between, because I dislike all that M rated FPS crap. Nintendo systems have all the best games anyway
And a few of my problems have been solved by Steam, which could be considered another platform, but the only thing I have on it is portal, and my computer cant handle the graphics, so I cant play it anyway. If there is ever something else I really want (and I get a better computer), Steam has a lot of good stuff.
I think between the 2 Im more than content

The Xbox/360 had games that interested me, so I bought it. I don't regret it one bit.
Handheld-wise I guess I'm a loyal to Nintendo, if you don't count the TurboExpress I had to sell. It was worth insane amounts of money.

I grew up loyal to Nintendo. What made me go multiplatform was Squaresoft and their announcement that they were making games for the PlayStation namely Final Fantasy VII. This disappointed me greatly at the time as I was looking forward to what turned out the be the Final Fantasy SGI demo.

I've owned multiple systems ever since.
In order..., NES, SNES, N64, PS1, DC, PS2, GC, XBOX, 360, Wii, and PS3.

How can you be loyal to Nintendo? Why would you be loyal to Nintendo? What's the point? And do you think Nintendo themselves even a give a **** if your loyal to them?

Just for you.

My first system that I played was the GameCube, and I played Super Smash Bros. Melee. Then it was the GameBoy Advance, then the DS, then the Wii, then the X-Box 360, saved by the N64, then the PS2, and finally, the awful, no-I'm-never-gonna-do-this-again PS3. I found all of those systems okay except for the last. Nothing feels right. The only non-Nintendo gaming system in my house is my brother's Game Gear, which, I must admit, is quite fun. I own a GBA, DSi, and Wii, but would never move on to the cash-in that is the DSi XL. I try to remain loyal to Nintendo, and don't have much reason not to.
