I know how you feel Corbie. When I realized how high it actually was, it was already too late to back down. The funny thing was everyone on the ride was screaming, I closed my eyes all the way through it and didn't make a noise. My girlfriend after thought it was because I didn't find it scary. I was absolutely terrified!
That happened to me, everybody just thought I wasn't scared, I was traumatized for about the three minute ride.
Yeah i sort of got afraid of them arriving in my late twenties, some of those American coaster you really have to threat me with a gun to get on. I'm way to squeamish nowadays.
Are they different in the UK?

Yes - Nowhere near as good, we have some quite good coasters but nothing compared to in America.
Nope, I love highs, I love high speed, I love G-force, and basically I have a very good internal ear that makes me almost impervious to dizziness, so I can say I pretty much love those things!!!

That's so true; here at Mexico we also have some nice RC, there are Six Flags Mexico's, and we have a few other parks, one still has the oldest wooden one around, and the thing is freaking fast; but most feel like a breeze to me, I'd give anything for a ride on those crazy, massive things you americans have.
Up until around age 11, they scared the crap out of me, probably due to a traumatic experience at Disney World when I was 3. (Space Mountain's darkness + single seat cars + a 3 year old who was at the time both afraid of separation from his mother and the dark = a not so happy experience for a not so happy child)
But ever since I've gotten over that fear, roller coasters seem more annoying than anything else. Long lines, loud screams, and the chance that the person near you might have had a big breakfast: thank you, but I'm more of a ferris wheel guy.

Holiday World is like 2 hours away from me. I've never been there, but I've been to King's Island, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disney Land, Knott's Berry Farm, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, and Cedar Point. Cedar Point is amazing. Millennium Force is god-like. I used to be afraid of coasters, but then when I went to Six Flags with my friend, I just all of the sudden wasn't anymore, and I rode them all day. Just like that.
