Topic: Are the 'old' 3DS and 2DS consoles now worth buying?

The 'new' nintendo handheld range now sport a c-stick as well as two bumper buttons. I was wondering, like Xenoblade Chronicles... do you think nintendo will start releasing their new titles exclusively supported by the 'new' range whilst the inferior controls on the 'old' range will be unable to play such games? A question I'm asking while I consider buying an old 2DS. I just don't want to but the console to find all titles in the coming months released I can't then play. Should I save my money and see? Thanks.

I can't say for the future, but as far as I know, every game released exclusively for New 3DS is essentially a port that could not run on original 3DS hardware. Xenoblade, Minecraft, Fire Emblem Warriors, the SNES VC, Runbow, etc. are all available on other systems as well, while other 3DS games like Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Samus Returns, and Fire Emblem Echoes can run on any 3DS system. Considering that Nintendo still seems to be pushing the classic 2DS, you should be fine, unless you absolutely must play Xenoblade wherever you go.

Ah right thanks! So no news on whether old 3ds support will be dropped in upcoming big titles. But for now only a select few games require the new buttons/stick to play. I think I may wait till Christmas and see if Nintendo's plan by then is 'new' nintendo exclusive titles.
