Topic: Are NIntendo fanboys the Bronies of gaming?

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is one of the most popular and well recived cartoons on TV right now. But it also has one of the most vocal fanbases of any cartoon show right now. Now, I don't hate all Bronies, in fact, one of my favorite cartoon reviewers on YouTube right now is a Brony, and there are some cool people on the MLP forums too. Its the obsessive Bronies I'm not fond of, the ones that shove pony images and references every minnute, on the minnute, and pretend that FiM is immuned to any sort of criticism what so ever. This side of the fanbase is why I don't really consider myself a Brony.

But to the topic at hand, It seems that I noticed simmilar trends with some Nintendo fans.

*Bronies often claim every cartoon on TV today is just incoherent randomness with dude-bro fart comedy. Nintendo fanboys claim every game on the market today is just adolecent M rated power fantasies.

*Bronies act like every episode or aspect of a show is immune to criticism. Nintendo fans pretend Nintendo never makes mistakes and can do no wrong.

*Bronies are often laughed at and riddiculed for watching a "little girly show". Nintendo fans are often made fun of for playing "kiddy casual games".

I'm a Nintendo fan. I like FiM, but even I can call out flaws and realise problems. Nintendo has failed to make the Wii U an enticing product for the average consumer and fails even harder at marketing it. And FiM has had some pretty bad duds throughout its 4 seasons, and Hasbro behind the wheel does limit some of its potential IMO. And just because I'm big fans of Nintendo and MLP doesn't mean I hate or ignore alternatives. If I wasn't a Sony fan, I wouldn't have owned a PS1 or PS3. Plus, I love 3rd party games as well. MLP may be a fantastic series, but it's not even my favorite cartoon on air right now, that honor goes to Gravity Falls.

So this begs the question, are Nintendo fans the Bronies of gaming?

Replace bronies with any other form of media or other. The question has pretty much been answered.

No, because Nintendo is cool and MLP is beyond lame. So this begs the question.. is @TheMisterManGuy looking for a fight or just pulling our hind legs?
