When VC-Reviews opened as The Virtual Console Archives, and you sent them emails to give them heads up, and then when you sent emails sending heads up, you'd actually get a real, non-automated letter back from Dazza or Damo? I sure do, I was one of the first members to ever join that site...
DO I.....?? I loved that magazine as a kid, had a great sense of humour, really fantastic reviews and the guys that wrote it came across as really cool people. The best thing about it was the fact that it covered every console and even some imports if I remember correctly (i remember drooling over the import review of LOZ A Link to The Past , plus it seemed to have loads of content both written and images , that thing was like a bible to me . Not like those £5 mags you get now full of huge images and recycled indexs and cheats but very little writing! That MM website was the reason I found VC-Reviews, I found an old copy of the mag in the loft and it brought back memories so I wondered whether there would be anything on the t'internet about it and lo and behold there it was. Great site that was by the way Dazza.

Mean Machines was such a big part of my life when I was a kid. I pretty much based all my game buying decisions on it, great times! I remember drooling over stuff Contra 4 and Super GnG and rushing down to my local indie to get it way before it would get released in the UK.
You should dig around the Mean Machines site we created a bit more, there are interviews with Jazza Rignall and the gang and a full set of PDF scans of the reviews in the magazine. Sometimes the old staffers even post in the forum.
Anyway that's what gave Damo and myself the idea to start VC Reviews. We already had many of the VC launch games in our database so it seemed like it would be easy to spin off another site covering the VC game library (how wrong we were! lol)

Oh yeah I seen all the PDF scans they were the best bit for me. A real trip down memory lane,put a smile on my face it did I even chose some of my early purchases on VC thanks to those reviews. I must have read that site for about 3hrs the first time I found it LOL. I'll take another look at the site this week and check out those interviews. Again great job Dazza ,thanks man. People of NL you should check out this site it's reviews are still relevant today and it's just a great read
I checked out Mean Machines every once in a while, but it wasn't as big for me as it was for you guys since I'm sort of in America.
Still, great sites, Mean Machines, VC Reviews, and WiiWare World. Aw yeah I remember those old avatars of yours... You used them on your reviews all the time.
Well, you didn't ever write emails back to me after a while, even when you guys were still on the VC Reviews/WiiWare World domains. Haha.
