I know NL isn't a very television-oriented place, but I still wanted to know if there are any other Breaking Bad fans out there. I got into it earlier this year and got hooked on it like it was crystal meth. I really think it's the best show on television right now (maybe even the best show ever!) Did the mid season finale last night blow anyone else's mind?

I tried to get into it (and i actually found it quite amusing) up until the point where they had to dispose of that corpse and destroyed the bathtub in the process. that whole sequence just squicked me the hell out... i'll stick with Weeds for my controlled-substance-based dark comedy needs, thanks D:
@Jumpman: Netflix has Breaking Bad up on Instant if you're interested, but i doubt they'd have the latest season available

I agree with the sentiment that it's the best show on T.V. It was actually that very scene that TBD mentions that made me realize the show was something special.

They have the first four seasons. I highly recommend it to anyone one looking for a new show to watch.

Comedy? I only watched 2 episodes with my brother, but I was under the impression that it was a straight up drama. Seriously, I don't recall seeing even a single scene that looked like it was trying to be funny. :/
@Mickeymac: no, Weeds is hilarious! it's very subtle, but once the series gets rolling, it's amazing. I'm wanting to say it's on Netflix too if you want to give it a shot :3

Weeds is a dramedy (drama-comedy). There's some parallels between the two shows since they have a similar premise in the lead character. Weeds is a little lighter with some comedy while Breaking Bad is straight up drama with some "OH CRAP!!!!!" moments where you have to laugh due to craziness of the situations.

Sorry, mean't Breaking Bad. I don't see how that is a comedy.
EDIT: GeePee seems to be in agreement, I guess. Just noticed that.
ive been watching the first four seasons on instant netfllix for quite a while now, and i got up to the part where Gus kills Victor right in front of jesse and Walt. really good show. i thought jesse's girlfriend(i forgot her name, she was in rehab) was awesome! i think the show got off on a strong start! the pilot was phenomenal!

I think Hank had an "OH CRAP!" moment himself in last night's episode.

to be honest, i thought the situation(s) were so hilariously outlandish i thought it was supposed to be a dark comedy or a dramedy of some sort. if i'd known it was intended to be straight-up drama/srs bzns, i probably wouldn't have bothered.

It doesn't really matter though without any hard evidence. And Walt has covered his tracks very well. The season 1 lab equipment was for a different lab. Unless Jesse talks, there's no way Hank has anything on Walt. Heck, it could just as easily be Willy Wonka.
I've been meaning to watch this show for ages and I don't what's been stopping me, especially since the first four seasons are on instant Netflix. I'm sort of inbetween anime and comedies at the moment though, and Mad Men and Game of Thrones won't be back on the air for a while, so maybe I'll make Breaking Bad my next show. Either that or Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
