Topic: anyone getting an ipad

it launches next week and i was wonder if any NLifers were taking the plune.

Lol no. I possess a mobile phone and a tray, at no point have I ever thought that my life would be easier if only someone would combine the two.

My dad is (bit of an Apple obsessive) but I'm happy with my regular size iPod touch

i think it's absolutely as worthless as everybody says it is (stinking massive ipod).... but i may be pitching in to get one for my mom. she's legally blind and can no longer read even large-print books, so the ability to have something handheld like that that she can blow up to whatever size she needs could be such an enormous blessing for her and let her finally lay in bed and read a book at night, or things of that nature. so for her, it would be worth it. for me, i'm not paying any company more money for a bigger version of a device that can't do as much as the original.

Doubt it. I'd rather have the same thing, but smaller and cheaper. Oh wait, they have those. iPod Touch.

me too. it's basically the same as the DSi, meant for people who need bigger screens.

I think I'll just stick with my 13" Macbook Pro and Ipod Touch for now. Just not very appealing to me at the moment.

No. Seriously, there is very little reason to buy it. It can't even do things that would give non-laptop owners a reason to get it, like powerpoint, word, and the ability to play flash videos (how the omitted that I don't know.) I know of no one that is buying it.

So; taking this thread as a statistic (very vague, narrow-scoped and inaccurate, yes), precisely 0% of the people of the English-speaking world intent to buy an iPad. Excellent
