Lose/Lose - the game where you slowly kill your own computer. For years, humans have been happily killing aliens in Space Invaders games without ever giving a thought to the consequences of their actions. But one new game brings home the terrible havoc you're wreaking on those poor aliens in a rather direct way.
Lose/Lose is a game with a somewhat worrying gimmick - every alien spaceship is based on a file on your computer's hard drive. When you kill the alien, you get a point - but the file it's based on is deleted. Not only that, but you don’t know which files have been zapped - you only see a file extension to give you any idea of whether it was uselessblurryphoto.jpg or incrediblyimportantspreadsheet.xls. The idea, according to its maker Zach Gage, is to explore 'what it means to kill in a video-game'. We're not sure we'd recommend playing the game, however - not only will you probably regret your loss of files, but we can't guarantee how good the gameplay is. We tried playing it on our work computer, but then xnjknxj flalggng kwsxx#xyy b}h@$||________

Wait...it actually deletes files? There's gotta be something illegal about that...

I made a game kinda like this at High School on my graphics calculator. Instead of deleting files but it would run a random SYSEVAL which if you were really lucky would run an internal testing app (Bomberman!), safely reset your calculator or if you were unlucky it would format your calculator (thus losing all notes/apps etc).
Needless to say it wasn't my most popular app
