Topic: Anybody done a Harlem Shake video?

Honestly anyone can get 44 million views on Youtube nowadays. And no I dont have a Youtube account because 1. I dont see the point in acting like a silly person when there is so much more to do in life. And yea making obscene gestures while dancing like a dumb - - - - really fun there.

A. No, not anyone can get 44 million views on YouTube. If you think that's true smack yourself into reality. You should've argued how that's a pointless, rewardless goal. That would at least make sense.

B. If a large chunk of the youth population finds this in good fun, I'd assume a good chunk of those "have lives" and you shouldn't be so judgemental automatically.

Sounds to me like some people are a little bit too sensitive about this random internet fad.

This is better?

-Both are incredibly irreverent in their humor
-Both are low-budget (A lot of Harlem Shake videos use greenscreen)
-I could argue both represent generation stupidity

The humor in the asdf series

used to be pretty funny. But now it's so obvious, at least to me.

People can have fun the way they want to have fun. If they want to do... this... to have fun, that's their choice. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Fun is different to different people. Half the people I know (That understand the rules) don't like chess and find it boring. Vice versa for the other half. Same applies here.
And some fads are actually okay, like Gangnam Style, until they really catch on. Because once everyone knows about it, it's an everyday thing, nothing special. Here's to hoping this dies sooner.
ASDF is random, but it exaggerates random things (As in reusing them) so much, it's pointless. If I ever hear the I Like Trains song again... ._."

The asdf movie stuff could only get worse to you if you value utter randomness over anything else in your comedy. But if you actually want your comedy to be any bit clever or thought out, then the asdf movie stuff have definitely gotten better as they've went. The latest one actually gets a few chuckles out of me every time I watch it, whereas I never really found much reason to go back to the early ones - they're not that funny once you know what's coming.

ASDFmovie isn't supposed to be about clever jokes. It's supposed to be about rapidfire pacing combined with random humor. Cleverness is okay in small doses, but I don't watch that expecting brilliant social commentary.

this. quit with the bitterness, guys, if you're truly that uninterested in this fad just let it blow over. there's no stopping it, and i'm sure the next big thing it'll be cool to hate is already on the horizon anyway. :/

Neither do I, but I do expect some thought to go into it, which I felt the first 4 or 5 asdf movies lacked.

^Precisely. If I watch something like ASDFMovie then I come in for rapidfire stupidity. Same for many other things such as most 15 minute Adult Swim shows.

If something is based off of social commentary (no good examples, best I can say is The Boondocks or Duckman) then I expect "intelligent humor"
