For some reason, I have a habit of buying video games and only playing them once in awhile. I don't know why, but I feel that it's a waste of money. I like the games, but I feel I buy them too often.

Yeah, I can get wrapped up in the hype for a new game before I've even finished the previous (stares at Pokemon SS and Zelda Spirit Tracks). At this point, I'm basically not getting anything new until I work through my backlog in a specific genre.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

I totally feel your pain here StarFox!!!! That seems to be the story of my life when my friends ask me about video games. "Oh yeah, I have that game!!!! What? Have I played it? Well, uh, ...no." lol I think video games are fantastic, but when it comes right down to it, I just don't have the time to play them all that much any more. So, I have this massive collection (over five hundred video games now) that I've been collecting since I was about five (and I'm twenty-four now lol), but I don't get to play them all to often. If you check out my backloggery, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. I also completely understand the waste of money part, especially now that I'm getting older. I'm not saying that it's necessarily wrong to spend some of our money on video games, but there are definitely a lot of other things that we could be saving up for like, oh, I don't know...a car, a house, emergency fund, etc. which are all nice things to have, especially if we want to get married and have a family some day. Even if we're just single, it would still be nice to have a house and a car probably. lol But the ladies definitely like to see a man who's going to be financially responsible.

I collect video games. I also used to collect DVDs and before that I collected comic books. I also used to party all the time, drink, and smoke too. Collecting anything can be an expensive habit, but there are certainly worse things you can do with your time and money. Although I am an avid collector, I must say that collecting video games is most certainly not recommended by me for anyone. I have played <1% of my collection, but unlike books, I have learned that it is possible to judge the quality of a video game by its cover.

I collect video games but i rarely play them and i pretty much think its a waste of money i spend most of my time playing video games but i only play new games instead of the 90s or 80s games.

I officially own a MAME arcade machine.

I collect all video games, and I play them. I'm a sucker for colletible stuff. If I go to a store and see a boxed or rare game and if I have the money for it you can bet I'll buy it. And if I don't have money I'll find a way to come up with it. One good thing about this though, is I've learned to restore games and systems to looking like new.

I collect games, but I also play them quite a bit. I'm collecting Gamecube games now, but only the ones that I one day plan on playing. I'm also telling myself that I'm not buying any new Wii games (Metroid Other M is only exception) until I play through all of the ones I have.
