This has always been my favorite cartoon growing up and I think I appreciated it more because I was older and understood most of the jokes lol. Looks like we are getting more of a good thing. Here's hoping Steven can maintain that certain charm the series always had. Please don't change what made it so great!
@Ralizah I'd be more worried if it wasn't Spielberg but still 20 something years can corrupt that thought. What was done to Ren and Stimpy was a travesty!

@Spoony_Tech Animaniacs was a great show, but it was also 'of its time.' What was smart, subversive, and funny in the 90s won't necessarily translate today. And, especially with the modern cultural climate being the way it is, I could see this being turned into something that... is unbecoming of its legacy.
RE: the Ren and Stimpy reboot, all I can see in my head now is a scene from one of the worst episodes where Ren is gleefully plucking off an insect's legs, one by one, as it screams, cries, and pleads for mercy. Good god, I can't believe people actually sat around and thought that animating that filth was, in any way, shape, or form a good idea.
I doubt it'd be any good. I agree with everything Ralizah said. What worked then isn't going to work now, although I do hope they continue writing awesome songs.
Never knew there was a Ren and Stimpy reboot too.
Stop 'rebooting' old shows and movies people. That's what everyone seems to be doing these days.
To keep up to date with the times, the Animaniacs will be doing their usual business by posting modern day memes with emojis plastered everywhere on their smart devices, which will be their way to unlock the water tower that has a fidget spinner wheel on it.
Also, the first video game will be a free to play runner on mobile, where they are running away from Ralph the Guard, who is trying to prevent them from revving up MOAR dank memes!
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
Looking at other reboots, I'll remain cautiously optimistic, though, despite being fans of the original, we all should remain open-minded and accepting of change ... to a certain degree. Not to Powerpuff Girls 2016 levels of change, that is. As long as the reboot retains the comedy and feel of the original, I'm okay with that. It won't ever look as good as the original but that's to be expected I suppose.

My hope is with most of the major players involved they can somehow translate that to a modern Animaniacs that feels fresh yet retains the humor they had. After all they have over 20 years of new joke to take on. I mean come on, Trump is President and you know they will do something with that lol

Meh. I'm getting quite sick of needless reboots. I love Animaniacs but I doubt it will be as funny as it used to be, I would rather watch the original anyway.
I'm cautiously optimistic. It may be tough trying to modernize the series while keeping it to it's roots, but at least it's the idea of the original creators themselves, rather than some execs trying to cash in on nostalgia, so it should at least stand a chance at being good.
My biggest worries would be animation quality (pray that it's not CGI...), and/or that they try too hard to appeal to older fans by making it unnecessarily raunchier.
But hey! What if the Brain sort of succeeded in his plans & Trump is a robot... controlled by Pinky.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
If they were well loved, then why should we want to see them rebooted? They were already great to begin with. It's the shows that we weren't fond of that would be better off rebooted. I'll stick to my Animaniacs on DVD.
