Just re-watching a old show called The Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, is about a God named Loki who is exiled to the human world by Odin and most collect evil aura from the hearts of humans in order to return to the realm of gods. Love me some Norse mythology.

I planned on watching this years ago, but never got to it.

I'm deciding to get back into Fairy Tail, skip the filler season(where I left off), and go into the last 26 episodes. Then maybe I'll get into Fairy Tail 2014.

Just started reading a manga called Wadatsumi (just read the first 5 chapters).

Pretty decent so far. It's set in a post apocalyptic flooded world, and centers around a small group of survivors on an island (which in reality is the top of a skyscraper) whose lives are turned upside down after a mysterious girl washes ashore, and is pursued by pirates & a mysterious group known as the "restoration committee".

It's an action oriented shonen series, with a touch of mystery (what exactly happened to this world, who is the girl, and what is this "restoration committee"?), and some occasional fanservice.

Man, it's just now sinking in how much I really liked Welcome to the NHK. I think I'll have to use checking out the Japanese dub as an excuse to rewatch it.

I'll do the same someday, but reverse languages.

Am I the only one that finds the ending fascinating? They both return to the fantasy of there being a conspiracy, and it is kinda presented as a very good thing? At least from what I remember it is. It says a lot to me about how blaming other things for your own issues can be a good coping mechanism despite seemingly being a weak and pathetic idea with you essentially lying to yourself. It's one of those things that makes me question the good of knowledge when willful ignorance and blaming something else could make your life easier.

I realised I haven't watched anything by KyoAni for a while (and I'd been missing the wonderful artwork and melodrama) so I started Kyoukai no Kanata. It's... not what I expected. The art style is really nice though!

Also, Youtube took down the 2 hour long pillows concert, which I used to listen to as study music I would buy a cd, but the pillows are so much better live anyway :/

always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)

Just finished up Wadatsumi (manga).

It was only 15 chapters long, so I felt like things got were a little rushed (especially towards the end), but it was fun while it lasted. If your looking for an action oriented Shonen series that won't last you too long, with an interesting world & powers (and don't mind some moderate fanservice), I'd say it's worth a read.

Well, as of last night I have finished the Yorknew City Arc of HxH and started the Greed Island Arc. Man this show is really getting amazing. It's starting to rival One Piece's throne of my favorites. The Phantom Troupe is a group I have odd feelings for, they're some of the best villains I've ever seen, being far more complex, layered, and interesting than your average black and white villain. They ruthlessly murdered thousands without the slightest hint of empathy or concern, yet have such a deep, caring, loving relationship with each other. They were excellently written characters, and for that reason, I have a hard time outright hating them for their awful deeds, or loving them for their quirky personalities and moving relationships. That's something that I really get from HxH, how much more "real" it feels from other shounen. Not real as in realistic (hey, we've got crazy superpowers, 12 year olds who save the world, arenas were people battle for money, and people using vacuums, cards, cellphones, pins, and all sorts of bizarre objects as weapons) but real as in, the characters all feel like actual people. I'm just in love with this show.

yeah Hunter X Hunter (and often Yu Yu Hakusho) are frequently really dark.

I'd give One Piece the edge, mainly because of its levity.

Toonami Saturday night!

Bleach - Missed it.

Naruto Shippuden - Missed it.

One Piece - I don't know much to say, other than it was another great episode. I know I sound like a broken record here (lol), but it really has grabbed me in.

Blue Exorcist - Wow, this was a surprisingly heartfelt episode. I almost teared up, lol.

Black Lagoon - Holy c***, now that's a massacre. Still despite blunt, raw nature of this episode, I couldn't help but find it amusing when Revy shot that dumbbutt blowhard when he was busy yapping on about his gun.

They had a new promo for Attack on Titan, and oh man is that show's animation quality the bee's knees! Looks so gory it would make Black Lagoon faint, though.

Time to look up the next InuYasha on YouTube.

Volume 20 of the Kenshin manga! I decided to read it after wanting more of Kenshin, but not wanting to get into the 3rd season.

Just read through Plastic Little (manga).

It was only 5 chapters long, but was pretty good. It's a sci-fi series centered around the crew of the Cha Cha Maru, a high tech spaceship, who are hired out to capture various dangerous animals from the Cloud Sea. While it's not long, each chapter feels very unique, as they each focus on a different crewmember (usually delving into their pasts', and their problem for that chapter usually requires the use of their particular skill). It's so short, I'd definitely say it's worth a read even if your only slightly interested (each chapter has it's fair share of fanservice though, in case you're worried about that sort of thing).

If the name sounds familiar, I watched it's OVA last year on YouTube (it's events precede those of the manga, but I wouldn't say watching it is a necessity).

I've started up Legend of Lemnear (manga).

It's a fantasy Shonen series. Pretty par for the course so far, but it's been enjoyable enough, and it's providing a nice contrast to the two sci-fi series I've read previously.

So, I just watched Mononoke Princess...

Great animation, badass protagonist, surprisingly gory for a Miyazaki film (who am I kidding, I haven't watched many Miyazaki films...), morally grey vilains...!
The only "complaint" I have is with the stupid goat demon. Oh my god, that thing looks like an anal rapist.

Well I've seen episode 3 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, the first 4 episodes of Greed Island, and the first two episodes of Skypiea. All of these shows are really impressing me!

Hmm, so here's a question for everyone.

What's one thing from one of your favorite anime (or manga) that you were actually disappointed with, or even hated?

It can be anything, from a uncharacteristically bad character, shift in tone, bad arc (canon or filler), whatever.

most of the romantic comedy animes I've watched 'cause they never kiss, heck sometimes they don't even get to notice their feelings before someone decides to cancel the anime...

I can name 2 things that have disappointed me with Detective Conan in the past few years.

-The main female lead/love interest started out as the nice childhood friend who stays strong despite secretly being sad about not seeing her love type of story. Because of quality writing it used to work but after some many ideas and stretching it out the character has been reduced to boring nice girl who is too pathetic to not need her man (a man whose respect for her is sometimes questionable). Basically a stereotypical anime character who rose above her stereotype eventually became everything wrong with the stereotype.
-The other issue is midway through the already slow moving, rarely gets too much focus plot arc it was random decided to ignore the plot for no reason for a year and a half despite it already moving at a glacial pace. And it took somewhere close to as long a period of time of relatively consistent cases with some plot to actually grab my interest again to the same degree again (though to be fair, since then the writing has mostly unintentionally listened to literally every complaint I had with recent Conan for a while, barring the first complaint I just made)
